After 6 incredible years leading Solihull Parent Carer Voice, I have made the decision to step down as a Director of the forum.

With new opportunities outside of SPCV, alongside the changing needs of my daughter, the time feels right to hand over the leadership of the forum.

I am delighted that Tracy and Clare will continue as Directors and will jointly lead SPCV moving forward. I know that the forum will remain in safe and passionate hands.

Although I am stepping back from this role, I will still be supporting SEND families across Solihull as a SEND Navigator, kindly funded by the National Lottery, and I will continue to be involved in the forum as a volunteer.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported both me and Solihull Parent Carer Voice over the past 6 years. Your encouragement, trust and commitment to improving the lives of SEND children, young people and their families has meant so much.

I'm incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together, and I look forward to continuing to support the SEND community in new ways.

Best wishes
Heather Delaney

Yesterday we along with the NNPCF Regional Director, attended The Association for Welfare Management Conference to talk to local authority staff, staff from multi-academy trusts and staff from attendance support services, about why some children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities can struggle to attend school, and what can be done to spot signs earlier and put in place support.

This was a great opportunity for us to talk about these difficulties from families perspectives.

A huge thank you also for the family that agreed to be our case-study for this session.

We really hope this session made a difference to professionals from all over the country, and that it helps to improve outcomes for children and young people.
