What if your first plan isn’t your final plan? 🔬✨

Tetiana originally thought she wanted to study Medicine. But when things didn’t go as planned with her UCAT, a conversation with her tutor helped her discover another route.

She realised she would love to work in laboratories while still making a difference to people’s lives - leading her to Biomedical Science.

Now, after achieving AAB, Tetiana is heading to the University of Southampton to study Biomedical Science. 🎓

Her advice to future students?

“Don’t be afraid of trying new things… just go and explore.”

You don’t have to know exactly where your future is going to take you. Exploring your options can help you find the path that’s right for you.

What could your future become? ✨

For Evie, it started with a passion for working with children with special educational needs.

At Itchen, she was able to take her learning beyond the classroom and gain real-world experience through work placements. These opportunities allowed her to put her learning into practice, explore her interests and discover the direction she wanted to take.

One experience saw Evie supporting a child using visual boards, giving her valuable insight into working with children with additional needs.

Along the way, Evie’s confidence grew too:

“My confidence has changed immensely.”

Now, she’s heading to Chichester University to study Teaching & Education, where she’s looking forward to gaining even more experience and developing her skills.

Her journey shows that you don't have to have everything figured out from the start. Sometimes, exploring your options is how you find your future.

Where could your interests take you? 🔎

For Tilly, it started with watching crime shows and trying to work out who the criminal was.

At Itchen, she was able to explore that interest through Criminology, Law & Travel & Tourism — discovering more about her subjects and where they could take her.

Her learning didn't stop in the classroom. From a Business, Law & Criminology trip to New York to exploring Criminology in London, Tilly had opportunities to experience her subjects in new ways. 🌎

Along the way, her time at Itchen also helped her grow in confidence.

“Itchen has given me confidence.”

Now, Tilly is heading to university to study Criminology, ready for her next chapter.

Her advice to future students?

“Do something that interests you.”

You don't have to know exactly where your future will take you. Sometimes, you just need to start exploring.

💙 Come and explore your future at Itchen.

From watching Wicked to taking centre stage. 🎭

When Amelia first started at Itchen, she was shy and nervous, with little experience in dance and singing.

But she knew she loved musical theatre.

After seeing Wicked in 2024, she told her mum:

“I need to be on that stage one day.”

At Itchen, Amelia had the opportunity to explore that passion, build her confidence and discover what she was capable of.

She went on to take leading roles including Roxie Hart in Chicago and Princess Anna in Frozen, achieving a Distinction in Dance & Musical Theatre.

Now, Amelia is looking ahead to drama school in London and continuing her journey towards a career in musical theatre.

Her ultimate dream? Playing Glinda in Wicked.

Her advice to Year 11 students is simple:

“Give everything a go even if you’re scared.”

You don't need to have your whole future figured out yet. Explore what interests you, take opportunities and see where they could lead.

💙 Come and explore your future at Itchen.

Meet Harry 👋

Harry is celebrating an outstanding D*D*D* in his Level 3 UPS qualification! 🎉

When Harry started at Itchen, he was still unsure about exactly what he wanted to do in the future. But during his time here, he made the most of the opportunities around him - from experiences on trips to the support of his teachers - while taking the time to work out what comes next.

For Harry, finding your future isn’t necessarily about having all the answers from day one. It’s about trying new things, taking opportunities and discovering where they might lead.

His advice to Year 11 students?

“Take every opportunity.”

With D*D*D* behind him, Harry is leaving Itchen with new experiences, new possibilities and the freedom to find his future. 💙

Congratulations, Harry! 👏
