We’re proud to share that Southampton Solent University has been named the top university in Hampshire for:
 
✅ Learning Opportunities
✅ Teaching on My Course
✅ Assessment and Feedback
✅ Academic Support
 
These results come from the latest National Student Survey (NSS) — with a record number of final-year Solent students taking part, and overwhelmingly positive feedback across the board.
 
We’re especially pleased to have improved in nine out of ten key categories, including mental wellbeing support and learning resources. Solent is now above the sector average in 80% of those key areas measured by the NSS.
 
These fantastic results reflect our continued commitment to student-centred education, teaching quality, and academic support.
 
As our graduates celebrate their success this week at Southampton Guildhall, we’re proud that their voices have helped shape such a strong endorsement of the Solent experience.

Hearing all this talk about Clearing but not sure what it is? Here’s everything you need to know!

Clearing is when UCAS provides students with the opportunity to apply for university courses that still have places, outside of the normal application window.

It’s an ideal option to find a place on a new course or at a new university if you:

🔴 Were late applying for university (after 30 June)
🔴 Haven't received any offers (or none you're willing to accept)
🔴 Didn't meet the conditions of your offers
🔴 Declined your firm

At Southampton Solent, we believe everyone has the right to study and work in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

We want to ensure that our students can be their authentic selves and feel safe in doing so, and with this also recognise that some students may want to access support based on their specific needs and experiences.

Within the Student Hub there is dedicated support for students within the LGBTQ+ community, providing a safe space for students to be supported and where their gender identity/sexuality can be expressed authentically.

Join us for an environmental water themed fun-filled day, as part of Southampton National Park City's Urban Wild initiative, tomorrow from 10am - 3pm!

Take part in this water-themed community event that brings environmental education to life through creativity, connection, and fun for the whole family.

Explore arts and crafts using recycled materials, browse a variety of sustainable market stalls, and discover eye-opening educational exhibits focused on water and the environment.

Take a stroll through our food garden with guided tours, informative talks, make your own bird feeder and grow your own wildflower.

Bring your energy and join us for an action-packed Futsal (indoor football) session from 12–2pm in the Sports Hall — appropriate footwear required!

At 2pm, head over to the Jane Austen Lecture Theatre for a family-friendly film screening of Finding Nemo — the perfect way to relax after a fun active day.

This event is all about learning, playing, and making a positive impact. No need to book, just turn up on the day 😃
