At Warsash Maritime School we offer a number of short training courses for those working in the offshore oil and gas industries. Our courses are OPITO-approved and, where applicable, additional training elements are included to meet European regulatory requirements. 🚁

Our training programmes use bespoke practical facilities to maximise learner participation and knowledge retention. We have a few places on BOSIET and FOET courses taking place next month:

• HUET with CA-EBS – starting 2 April
• BOSIET with CA-EBS and ECT – starting 28 April
• FOET with CA-EBS and ECT – 28 April

If so, you’re invited to join us for a special (in-person) Applicant Experience Day, Saturday 15 March, 9.30am-3pm.

This fun, hands-on event is different from a regular open day. As an applicant joining us on the day, you'll have the opportunity to find out for yourself what life is really like as a Solent and Warsash student - and why we were awarded triple gold for teaching excellence (TEF 2023) - as you take part in an interactive taster session related to your chosen course.

And, as usual, if you attend and live outside the local authority of Southampton City Council, or have travelled from outside the UK, you can apply to receive an Amazon voucher towards the cost of travel to the event. See the webpage below for details. 🚢

Are you, or is a member of your crew, a ship's security officer looking to develop the role into a company security officer? ⚓🔒

The two-day Company Security Officer (Top-Up) course at Warsash Maritime School is specially designed to enable holders of a current MCA-approved ship's security officer certificate to achieve certification as a company security officer.

We have a few spots available on the course starting Thursday 27 March.

During the course, which takes place at our East Park Terrace campus at Solent University, Southampton, you’ll build upon your knowledge of the security of shipboard operations and the interface between ship, operating company and port facility.

Other topics covered include:

• The key elements of a ship security plan
• Undertaking physical searches
• Security equipment and systems
• Training and drills
• Pre-planned emergency procedures
• Crowd management
• Security contingencies and responses

Our full MCA approval enables us to offer all of the course modules and programmes required by new entrants to the maritime industries or those wishing to obtain an internationally recognised Certificate of Competency (CoC).

Are you working towards securing your Master (Yachts) certification? Our dedicated Superyachts – Master (Yachts) training programme at Warsash Maritime School is one of the most popular in our portfolio.

The five courses include the forthcoming week-long Master (Yachts) - Celestial Navigation course starting Monday 24 February.

Successful delegates can expect to gain a practical understanding and knowledge of celestial navigation, including the ability to fix the vessel's position and determine compass error using celestial observations. ✨

This course is almost full but there are a few spots remining for those eager to join us at short notice.
