D-DAY 80 - I can highly recommend the Normandie beaches and their museums. They are extremely well laid out and very informative. It is also worth visiting some of the German bunkers and imagine their incredulity when they looked out that morning and saw over 5000 ships parked on their door step.
A Battlefield tour guide also strongly recommended that you don't just stay on the beaches but follow a unit inland in the 60 continuous days of battle for Normandie {The rifles, Sherwood rangers, Green Howards}
If you can't get to Normandie, I can recommend the D-Day museum in Portsmouth. The more I read about the planning for D-Day the more astonished I am at the detail variety and complexity of planning, and all done on pen and paper.

Our February meeting on Tuesday this week provided an excellent demonstration of a Ceremony by Worshipful Master Paul and his team. A great evening completed by an excellent meal at the Festive Board.

A great evening catching up with some familiar faces at the inaugural curry night brilliantly organised by Rex . Simon put on a veg, madras, and korma curry, which were very tasty, and some lovely deserts. Lovely to see Deon and his new fiancee Maria. Looking forward to the next one in January which is likely to be an American buffet of burgers and wings. Come along and bring your friends and family.
Was so good, hardly anything left to take home 🙂

Brethren,
In accordance with a decision made at out last committee meeting, I have arranged with Simon that on the evenings that used to be our November and January meetings, we will now make these an informal social dining event.
On Tuesday 21st November at 6.30p.m., there will be a curry evening. Simon will provide a curry buffet, of three options including a vegetarian one. All three will be mild. There will also be a mixture of buffet desserts. There will be a fish & chips option for anyone not wishing to eat curry. The cost will be £14 per head.
This is your opportunity to invite other masons, friends & Opportunities for our wives to mix are limited and it will also be a good opportunity for any prospective masons to bring theirs too.
