This #InternationVolunteerDay we want to thank every volunteer who has supported our amazing community, from mentoring a student, to speaking at an event, joining an advisory board, or sharing their career story with University of Southampton Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise
Since September this year, 2,497 of you have volunteered 10,964 hours and for that we are truly grateful 👏

Thank you to our amazing alumni speakers ✨
These impressive Humanities alumni joined us on Avenue Campus to share their career journeys (so far!), industry insights, and advice for their younger selves.
Our current Humanities students were excited to meet alumni who had completed the same degree as them and to hear what this has helped them to achieve, like training journalists, writing bids for international organisations, serving their communities in local government, supporting student wellbeing, and developing apps.
There are lots of ways you can keep in touch with and support your @uni_southampton community, from speaking on a panel to joining over 7,00 students and alumni on our E-Mentoring platform.

Alex Lewis: Mountain Trailer
This 14-day expedition took place in October 2019, six years after Alex Lewis developed Septicaemia from Strep A Toxic Shock Syndrome. Seven months of lifesaving surgery saw Alex lose his left arm above the elbow, his right arm below the elbow and both legs above the knee as well as having facial reconstruction where the infection took over his face and limbs.
We are delighted to bring you an exclusive screening of the film titled Alex Lewis: Mountain, produced by the acclaimed, award-winning film director Simon Ratigan, which documents the gruelling expedition of Hampshire residents Alex Lewis and David Collinson up Ethiopia’s tallest mountain, using an off-road, solar-powered, mobility hand cycle.
If you'd like to be at this exclusive screening, Thu, 9 Nov 2023 at 19:00, then register your interest here: ww.eventbrite.co.uk/e/alex-lewis-mountain-public-tickets-713564549777?aff=oddtdtcreator
