A special visit at Cowes Week ⚓️

It was great to see the University represented at this year’s event, with HRH The Princess Royal visiting our stand as part of the celebrations marking Cowes Week’s 200th anniversary.

A fantastic week connecting with our community and sharing more about the University’s work, including our new Institute for Medical Innovation and our world-leading marine and maritime research.

We were honoured to welcome HRH The Princess Royal to our stand at this year’s edition of Cowes Week.

The Princess Royal was on hand to mark a historic milestone for the famous event on the Isle of Wight, helping to launch its 200th anniversary celebrations.

As part of her visit, she spent time in the Youth Zone, where she spoke to our team about various aspects of life at the university.

It was a highlight of a wonderful week, as we chatted to guests about the Institute for Medical Innovation, the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute, and also the British Science Festival, which the university is hosting from September 16-20.

Our thanks to everyone who came to see us and to the organisers for a fantastic event.

A wonderful evening in Pakuwon City reuniting some of our Southampton graduates from across Indonesia.

Led by Professor Tahsin Tezdogan, the dinner offered alumni the chance to reconnect, expand their professional networks, and hear the latest news and updates from the University of Southampton.

It is fantastic to see that the strength and warmth of our Indonesian alumni community continues to thrive.

50 years on, and still connected 💙

We’ve loved celebrating two special 50-year reunions with our alumni this year!

Our Medicine alumni recently returned to campus to mark 50 years since graduating - a cohort with a special place in Southampton’s history as the University’s very first Medicine graduates.

Meanwhile, Geology graduates from 1976 reunited this June, with nine of the original 10 classmates coming together to celebrate 50 years since they first graduated.

No matter how long ago you graduated, you’ll always be part of the Southampton alumni community.
