The Level 3 Acting for Stage and Screen students were proud to perform the iconic play, ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, for a three-day run in Stockton Riverside College’s Margaret Armstrong Theatre.

The story follows Christopher Boone, an exceptionally gifted 15-year-old with autism. When he discovers his neighbour’s dog murdered with a pitchfork, Christopher sets out to solve the crime. His investigation uncovers buried family secrets, triggering a brave and overwhelming journey to London.

Within the acting group, there are several neurodivergent cast members, including Jack and Alfie, who played the lead role of Christopher Boone on different nights. We caught up with Jack, Alfie, Sammie and Hannah who were keen to share their experiences about working on the show!

It was lovely to see SRC alumni, Phoebe and Lola, at the Creative Makeup showcase at ARC🥰 Both are currently in their 2nd year of university studying Media Makeup, Special Effects and Hair Design. We caught up with them to see how they're getting on...

How did you find the Creative Makeup course at SRC?
"The course gave us a great base level knowledge to be able to go on and do it at uni. I loved collaborating with the Film & TV and Acting students, particularly going to Whitby to do makeup for some short films that we all worked on together."

What is your main goal when you finish uni?
"I'd love to get into industry and work on film or tv sets, mainly in the horror genre as it's more special effects."

Any advice for our Creative Makeup students?
"Do your work, don't fall behind and just be yourself! If you're passionate about the course, you will see it through."

Student Success Sunday🤩

Sammy has been nominated by her tutor, Louise, to share her success as she's been doing so well balancing her catering course at college and her weekend job cooking and serving meals at a local pub!

Sammy said: "I chose Stockton Riverside College because it is close to home. My favourite thing about my course is the cooking, I absolutely love cooking! In college my fave meal to make is
braised beef/scotch broth, and my fave meal to make at work is a parmo platter, which is five half parmos."
