Spanish is the world's second most spoken native language, and A level Spanish at Stockton Sixth Form College goes far beyond grammar: you'll explore culture, history and current affairs across Spain and Latin America while building fluency and the analytical skills universities love.

New for September: A level photography at Stockton Sixth Form College.

Develop your creative eye through hands-on work with cameras, lighting and editing, alongside creative theory, building your own visual style towards a personal investigation in year 2.

You'll join an art department with a real record: work permanently displayed in North Tees Hospital, murals in local primary schools and wins in the Mima Great Create competition.

Photography can take you into commercial, editorial, fashion, film, forensic and press photography, photojournalism, fine art and beyond.

Laura Burdin studied at Stockton Sixth Form College three years ago and popped back in to update us on all the amazing things she has been up to since!

Laura's interest in Geography at A Level carried her forwards to obtain a first class Geography degree and she's about to start a job as a Flood Risk Consultant.

Laura credits her brilliant A Level Geography tutor Sam Willis with giving her the support and encouragement to fulfill her potential.

100% of our first T level engineering students passed their examinations.

The T level in engineering launched at Stockton Sixth Form College in September 2025 and every student passed their first-year examinations. It builds on an engineering department that delivered a 100% pass rate in BTEC engineering this summer, with 45% of outcomes at high grades.

The course is worth three A levels and is built around doing: engineering principles, materials, CAD and manufacturing, plus a 45-day industry placement with a local engineering employer. You'll visit engineering companies and university departments and hear from people working in the industry now.

From here, students head for careers in design, manufacturing, aerospace, robotics and automation, or on to university and higher apprenticeships.

Learn aviation in a real aircraft cabin and a full flight simulator.

Aviation operations at Stockton Sixth Form College is more than travel and tourism. It's a professionally focused BTEC in how the industry actually works: airlines, airports and route networks, safety and compliance, flight and passenger operations, even meteorology and aviation communications.

It leads somewhere too. Students progress towards airline and airport operations, pilot training pathways, air traffic control, aviation management and more, helped along by guest speakers from across the sector, airport visits and real operational scenarios.

No prior aviation knowledge needed, and it pairs well with business, geography, physics and maths.

100% of our first T level health students passed their examinations.

The T level in health launched at Stockton Sixth Form College in September 2025 and its first year has been outstanding. It joins a health department with a real record: 94% of health and social care diploma outcomes were high grades this summer, and BTEC programmes achieved a 100% success rate for the second year running.

Ayomide Oguntoyin leaves with a double distinction* in health and social care and a place at Northumbria University to study paediatric nursing. "Through the college I went to Sri Lanka and Tanzania. In Tanzania I volunteered in the paediatric ward the whole time. It was so rewarding. My advice is take every opportunity you can."
