Strode College serves the educational and training needs of Street, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Langport, Wells and Castle Cary. It works closely with its partner 11-16 schools. Close liaison is maintained with the staff, students and parents at these schools and others within the area. The college makes provision for adult education in both Street and outreach centres. The college was graded as ‘Good’ in October 2022 by Ofsted.

The Strode College Hair, Beauty & Barbering Showcase was a fantastic celebration of creativity, passion and talent across the department ✨

Students showcased incredible work across a range of competition categories including Night at the Cinema, Celebrities, Avant Garde, Red Carpet, Musicians and more. A huge congratulations to every student who took part, and to all of our category winners👏 Your hard work, skill and creativity truly shone throughout the showcase.

From Strode College to national recognition in Engineering 🔬

We are proud to celebrate former Strode College student Emily Ramsdale, who has been named one of just 10 finalists for the Female Undergraduate of the Year award while studying on an Integrated Masters Biomedical Engineering programme at the University of Southampton.

Emily studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths A Levels at Strode College between 2020 and 2022, achieving outstanding results alongside an EPQ in Artificial Intelligence. She credits the College’s supportive environment, practical learning opportunities and enthusiastic teaching for helping her develop the analytical, research and problem-solving skills needed to succeed at university.

Emily said:
“Strode College provided the perfect environment for me to explore science in more depth. The constant support and encouragement from both the teaching and administrative staff motivated me to pursue Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southampton. I have now achieved top results for my cohort and have become one of ten finalists for the Female Undergraduate of the Year award.”

An incredible achievement and an inspiring example of where ambition and dedication can lead.

Our talented student musicians took to the stage to perform their brand new original tracks live, showcasing an incredible mix of pop, EDM and rock music. Huge congratulations to first year A level students Oscar, Matilda, Elliot and Xavier on achieving Bronze awards in the UK Chemistry Olympiad Round 1! 🧪👏

Competing against predominantly second year students, they demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience and problem solving skills while tackling challenging chemistry questions based on real world topics.

Today we are celebrating International Women and Girls in IT Day by highlighting Emily, a second year Cyber Security T Level student at Strode College.

Emily has built valuable industry experience through placements at a doctors surgery and a local library, where she developed skills in data management, communications and IT support.

Her course has given her a strong understanding of cyber security and protecting computer systems, helping prepare her for her future career goals.

After college, Emily hopes to progress onto a Digital Forensics apprenticeship and continue developing her skills in the tech industry.
