CitySpace Fitness is the University’s iconic facility for sports and social activity on City Campus which has a vast array of fantastic services available to students, staff and members of the public throughout the year. We offer our members a high quality user experience and an extensive range of cardio, strength, functional and performance training equipment. Also a fantastic range of specialist

and conventional classes, in a relaxed, safe and social environment, from Body Pump and Abs Blast to Yoga and Pilates. Our timetable includes strength and functional classes to improve flexibility, core, balance and muscle development. CitySpace Fitness features a large modern sports hall with spectator seating. It is the home to Team Sunderland, for training, fixtures and competition, as well as being available for casual bookings to play 5 a side, netball, table tennis, basketball, badminton and short tennis. Our highly qualified team of fitness and wellness professionals are ready to support and advise you.

Last week we took sports day to the next level with our University Staff Showdown- summer edition!🍉🌴⛱️

Teams took on head to head games such as ‘Sunlounger Scramble’, ‘Volley-Big-Ball’ and ‘Noodle Duel’ 🏐🤺

Just over one week to go until the third event in the CitySpace Fitness Showdown Series – FULL SEND!⚡️

Our competitors are locked in and ready to take on a hybrid challenge inspired by ATHX games, HYROX, weightlifting, endurance and functional fitness.

Athletes should have received an email including the event itinerary, workout flow and movement standards. If you can’t find it in your inbox, DM us 📩

Spectating is FREE, so come along, soak up the atmosphere, support the athletes and be inspired!

We’re also making a final call for volunteers. If you’d like to get closer to the action and help judge the event, we’d love to hear from you. No experience is required, and all judges will receive a free event T-shirt👕

Whether you’re competing, spectating or volunteering, we can’t wait to welcome you to another fantastic day of fitness.
