For those interested in putting themselves forward for committee, here are brief descriptions of the roles:
Chairperson/President:
To chair any meetings arranged by the society and ensure all meetings are conducted in an orderly and democratic manner. Will act as Spokesperson of the society. Will agree to run the society efficiently within the guidelines of the Institute of Sport and ensuring that all society forms are completed correctly. Ensure the aims and objectives of the society are met.
Treasurer/Vice President:
Will ensure all monies accepted on behalf of the club are paid without delay. Payments made to the Sports Office. Be responsible for organising budget requests with all necessary details. When requiring money the Treasurer should apply to the Sports Office in person. Receipts of invoices must always be provided. Responsible for keeping accurate financial records of the society including the retention of all receipts etc.
Secretary:
Responsible for the keeping of records and details of events, i.e. Sports & Rec. Ball, Intra mural and communication to all members. Responsible for room bookings. Responsible for communicating information to society members. Responsible for being an administrator on the appropriate official social networking sites. Liaise with the Sports & Societies Assistant on events, society matters etc. Will deal with all correspondence for the society and reply where necessary. The Secretary should also keep the Chair/President and Treasurer/Vice President informed.
Other roles can be added if needed.
