University of Sunderland | Rowing

University of Sunderland | Rowing Welcome to the University of Sunderland Rowing Page! You can train for fun or you can train to compete in races. Times will vary due to the tide of the Wear.

We're a small, friendly club that caters for all abilities; from those who have never rowed before and want to learn, to those who would like to continue rowing. Training sessions are on Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday at the boat club in South Hylton. We also do indoor circuit sessions on Tuesdays throughout the winter months. In the summer, we have water sessions in the evenings instead. If you

want to train more than that just let us know and you can join in on other days. We train with/at the same place as the City of Sunderland Rowing Club: http://sunderlandrowingclub.co.uk/

Thinking about joining a sports club at university?
Whether you’re completely new to rowing or have previous experience, Sunderland Rowing offers opportunities to learn, train, race and be part of a welcoming club community.
Our Learn to Row programme helps beginners develop their skills and confidence on the water, while experienced rowers can continue training and competing throughout the season. We offer a structured training schedule, opportunities to race at head races and regattas across the country, and plenty of ways to get involved away from the water.
From socials and club events to fundraising initiatives and volunteering opportunities, there’s more to Sunderland Rowing than just racing.
If you’d like to find out more, fill out the interest form via the link in our bio or come and meet us at the Freshers’ Fair and Sports Fair.
