UWTSD welcomed Welsh Government, education and industry leaders to its Swansea Waterfront campus for a roundtable discussion on the skills Wales needs for the future.

Our students and graduates shared their experiences of apprenticeships, higher education, skills competitions and industry partnerships, highlighting how these opportunities have helped shape their careers and build confidence.

From WorldSkills success to degree apprenticeships and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, their stories show the importance of giving learners opportunities to develop real-world skills and build their futures.

Harvey, a recent UWTSD Motorsport Engineering graduate, has recently started his new role working on the design and development of performance components for Jaguar vehicles.

But it all started with a visit to the Swansea SA1 campus itself, where he got the chance to see the facilities, speak with the lecturing team and learn more about studying and life at UWTSD.

If moving from Sydney, Australia, to Swansea doesn't prove just how great our Motorsport Engineering course is, we don't know what will 🤩

Hannah made the move to Swansea on the hunt for the right degree, and she found just that. A course that not only taught her the theory but also the practical elements of a field she was genuinely excited about.

Graduating this summer, she has already secured a graduate role with global manufacturer Caterpillar.

With insights from Google Cloud and industry leaders, plus a behind-the-scenes look at Google’s innovative workplace, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect learning with the real world.

As we round off Adult Learners’ Week, we’re celebrating the adult learners joining us from communities across Neath Port Talbot and Swansea for our four-week Creative Wellbeing course at DOVE Workshop in Banwen. 🖌️

The course is bringing people together to be creative, try something new, build confidence, and support their wellbeing, while exploring future learning opportunities. 🤝

It’s been fantastic to see adults coming together through learning, creativity and connection.

Swansea College of Art BA Illustration student, Perrine Roch discovered!✈️

She travelled to Fiji to volunteer as part of the Think Pacific Fiji Village Immersion Programme, funded via the Welsh Government’s Taith initiative. 🗺️

She fully immersed herself in Fijian culture by living with a traditional Fijian family, experiencing local cuisines, and learning traditional weaving and cooking techniques!

All while developing a new appreciation for her artwork and the opportunities available to her.🎨
