Louis Benneyworth OA, Bishop Fox 2022 writes:

After I left King’s I want on to study Music at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford, where I served as President of the Oxford University Music Society (2024-25), and Musically Directed seven high profile shows. At the core of all of what I do at university is widening access to music and promoting undiscovered music.

With this in mind, I have recently written a musical that is going to receive its premiere this summer, both in Oxford from the 10th-13th of June, and then at the Edinburgh fringe festival from the 7th-22nd August. The show is called 'On Some Far Shore’ and asks questions like 'What makes a good story?' and 'What impact might a story have on a relationship?'. It represents the culmination of lots of my work at University up to this point and reflects musically on all that I have learnt.

To bring this production to life is extremely costly, so I have set up a crowdfunding page. I would be incredibly grateful for any support you are able to offer, as your contribution will play a vital role in making this show possible.

On Friday 15 May, we hosted a special lunch at The Farmers Club in London for OAs who left between 1940 and 1989.

Guests were welcomed with a reception drink, kindly funded by the OA Club, before enjoying a three-course lunch. The Development Office and Archives also produced a commemorative booklet for the occasion, featuring a school photograph of each attendee alongside a selection of historical images spanning the decades.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for OAs from this era to reconnect, share stories, and reminisce in a warm and convivial setting.

Photographs from the event are available to view via King's Global Connect https://kingsglobalconnect.com/galleries/view/28

Earlier this month Victor Chu OA was a guest speaker at the annual Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH). The ASGH brings together senior government officials and policymakers, investors, influential business leaders, financial and professional services providers as well as renowned researchers and academics from around the world to exchange insights on global health development. Hosted in Hong Kong the ASGH examined global trends on health innovation and investment, explored areas of global collaboration in health, and showcased new business opportunities and partnership for investors and project owners.

Franklin and his son Lincoln, both OAs, caught up with Victor at the event.

We were delighted to recently welcome a group of former colleagues back to school for a special lunch reunion. The afternoon began with pre lunch drinks in the Sixth Form Centre Café, where former and current staff enjoyed the chance to reconnect, reminisce, and catch up on school news.

Guests were then treated to a traditional school lunch served in the dining room, providing a familiar setting and plenty of opportunity for lively conversation and shared memories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the occasion such a success. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did and very much look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.

Thanks to all those who made suggestions regarding the identity of the sitters in the Rory Young portraits. Today we were able to reunite 'Clarkey' (Tuckwell 72) with his portrait. Still recognisable after 50+ years
