If you've passed your driving test over the summer, congratulations! Before you head out, take a few minutes to check:
✅ Tyres
✅ Lights
✅ Oil & coolant
✅ Brakes
✅ Screenwash
And remember:

Whichever way you’re planning on getting to college this year, here are a few tips!

🚲👣: there’s a traffic-free path that links campus to Vivary Park and the town centre.

🚌: the best way to get the latest updates on your bus journey is via the bus companies themselves. For Hatch Green Coaches, check their website and social media. First Bus and Stagecoach have apps you can download for timetable information and live tracking.

🚉: we run free shuttle buses between Taunton Station (Trenchard Way entrance) and college – see our website for timetables. We also recommend buying a 16-17 Saver railcard (17-year-olds can now buy one up until the day before you turn 18, making it valid until the day before you turn 19!).

Please be aware that Stagecoach have just notified us that they will not be running this afternoon's bus service from college.

If you have any concerns or trouble making alternative travel arrangements, please head to reception or call them on 01823 320800.

New Year 1 students - don’t forget to check your timetable! 📅

As always at the start of term, in some instances timetables may be subject to last minute changes as we accommodate late enrolments. ⏰

We therefore advise all new students to double check their timetable on the Hub tomorrow morning before travelling in. 🚌

If you have any questions or concerns, or are not sure where you need to be, please don’t worry, come into college for 9.00am. ✅

There will be plenty of spaces to socialise, study and get support. 🤝

The bus companies’ websites and social media channels are the best way to get the most up to date information on your journeys. Stagecoach and First Bus have handy apps too! ✅

If you’re travelling by First Bus (particularly if you live further afield from Taunton):

🚌 When buying tickets on the First Bus app, ensure the area is set to Taunton and only purchase daily, weekly or monthly tickets
🚌 Don’t choose the ‘West of England’ option, as this only covers travel across Bristol, Bath and Weston-Super-Mare zones – travel back from Taunton won’t be covered
🚌 If you need a refund for any ‘West of England’ tickets purchased and not used, you can contact First Bus for a refund. Further help can be found at https://www.firstbus.co.uk/help-support/help-and-support
