Firebeacon Farm We are a family run farm. Producing Beef boxes and burgers from our grass fed Native Dexter cattle and Wagyu.

We also run a flock of native Coloured Ryeland and Exmoor Horn sheep, producing grass fed lamb boxes and burgers.

Early this morning we bought some of the stock in to tag and disbud some of the calves.

Some of the older calves decided to jump the feed fence and have some fun with the feed!

We have been up early to sort the ewes and lambs in the cooler shade this morning.

A new calf born at Firebeacon farm
Every new live that appears on the farm is so precious. We take extra care in summer or winter with our new arrivals.
At this time of year we make sure they are up and suckling quickly to keep hydrated, and they have free access to the barn for shade.
Most of the cows on hot days will choose to calve in the barn, or come back in during the hottest part of the day with their young calves to seek more shade. This way we can keep an extra close eye on them 🧐

Another hot morning here today. The animals all have access to lots of shade- which they are preferring to be in already as the sun is out and heating up!

It is a beautiful evening here at Firebeacon farm. We are waiting for the baler to arrive this evening so we can get to work collecting the small bales of hay into the barn!
