Day 4 of | Higher Education Learners

Today we’re celebrating our Higher Education learners at The Bedford College Group.

HTQs are Level 4 (HNC) and Level 5 (HND) qualifications approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Developed in collaboration with employers, they ensure students gain the industry-ready skills, knowledge and practical experience needed for their chosen careers.

Our HTQs span a diverse range of sectors, including:

• Care & Early Years
• Computing
• Construction Management
• Counselling
• Engineering
• Photography

🎉 National Apprenticeship Week 2026 🎉

What an incredible week it’s been celebrating apprenticeships across The Bedford College Group! From student takeovers to employer events and apprentice spotlights, this week has shown just how powerful partnerships and practical learning can be.

Here’s a look back at what we’ve been up to 📽️

🔹 Monday – We kicked things off with a Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce Student Takeover, giving learners the chance to lead, network and engage directly with local businesses.

🔹 Tuesday – We launched our new Industry Advisory Boards and celebrated success at our Apprenticeship & Business Awards, recognising the outstanding contributions of apprentices and employers.

🔹 Wednesday – We shone a spotlight on Joel Gardener, last year’s Apprentice of the Year winner, now thriving at one of our valued employer partners, RSP UK.

🔹 Thursday – The focus turned to T Levels, alongside a visit from the Bedford Independent, who met with our engineering, brickwork and carpentry apprentices at Bedford College.

🔹 Friday – Today, we take a moment to reflect on what has been an inspiring week, celebrating the impact of apprenticeships and the opportunities they create for individuals, businesses and our local communities.

A huge thank you to all our employer partners Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce, Money and Pensions Service, North Northamptonshire Council, Bedford Giving, Bedford Borough Council, Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel, The Air League, RSP UK, Lockheed Martin, IMO Precision Controls, Morgan Sindall for your continued support, collaboration and commitment to developing the next generation of talent. 🤝
