University Centre Truro & Penwith A range of career focussed courses | Smaller class sizes | Condensed timetables | Links to employers

With much smaller class sizes that allow each student plenty of 1-1 personal support from the tutors and the opportunity to fit your life around your lectures, anyone can easily discover Plymouth University Courses with Truro and Penwith College. The Courses on offer are easily accessible to students of all ages and most only require a minimum of 24-32 UCAS Points - that's equivalent to one A Level at grade D-C. Offering Foundation Degrees, HND/HNC qualifications and BA top-up years, our tuition fees are also much lower than the national average. Charging only £8,224* per year for new students for the first two years, our courses are very affordable.

It was great to welcome our new and returning students to the University Centre induction today! 🎓

There was a fantastic buzz across campus as new students found their feet and returning students reunited with familiar faces. We can't wait to see what this year brings and wish everyone the very best for the exciting journey ahead.

You can also purchase up to two guest tickets. Please note that guest tickets are limited due to capacity at the Cathedral.

What makes someone want to become a teacher? 👩‍🏫

For one of our aspiring teachers, the answer was simple:

“To inspire young people.”💙

That was just one of the powerful conversations during a session with James Davidson, Headteacher at Penair School and Chair of Cornwall SCITT, who took time out to share his valuable experience with our teacher training cohort.

From the challenges of the classroom to the rewards of making a difference, James gave our future teachers a valuable insight into life in the profession and what it really means to inspire the next generation.

⭐Nominations are now open for the 2027 Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards, closing on Monday 19 October.

We're delighted to launch the eleventh annual Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards, that will raise the curtain on Cornwall’s National Apprenticeship Week celebrations at the Eden Project.

This year's Awards introduce a brand-new Small Employer of the Year Award, recognising the vital role Cornwall's small and micro businesses play in developing local talent through apprenticeship training.

From dedicated Employers, inspiring Mentors, Rising Stars, Apprentice Achievers and of course Cornwall's Apprentice of the Year 2027, we're looking for the individuals and organisations whose dedication, commitment and achievements deserve to be recognised across 16 categories.

⏰ Nominations close: 4pm, Monday 19 October 2026

📅 Awards Evening: Friday 5 February 2027
