💬 Not sure what to say? Start simple.

“Are you okay?”
“Would you like me to stay with you?”
“Can I help you report this?”

You do not need the perfect words to show support. A simple check-in can make a real difference.

You don’t have to fix it alone.

If you witness something that does not feel right, remember that being an active bystander is about support, not confrontation.

Check that you are safe, ask for help when needed, and check in with the person afterwards.

Safety is everyone’s business.

👀 See it. Support. Act safely.

This week, we’re focusing on the 5 Ds of active bystander intervention: Distract, Delegate, Direct, Delay and Document.

You do not have to put yourself at risk to make a difference. Sometimes, a small action can help someone feel safer and supported.

Harassment isn’t always obvious.

Repeated unwanted messages, sexual jokes, persistent comments about someone’s appearance, misuse of power and online intimidation can all make someone feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Recognising the signs is an important first step.

Safe to Learn. Safe to Work. Safe to Be.
