As part of the childcare traineeship program, the trainees will undertake 10 weeks of work experience in the Nursery. This will be for 6 hours shifts over 4 days per week, (or alternatively 8 hour shifts over 3 days per week).

The remaining 6 hours per week are made up of class room based employability, functional and vocational skills training.

• Follow agreed nursery routines ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
• To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the setting.
• Assist with the delivery of play based activities.
• To aid with the development and learning of the children.
• Provide a high standard of physical care and safety.
• Help to ensure the preschool nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.

• The trainee will develop new skills in employability as well as skills introducing them Child Development and Early Years. Trainees will receive a certificate of completion from GPSTL at the end of the programme.
• Free DBS Check.
