Did you know that Phronesis is an ancient Greek word for a type of wisdom or intelligence relevant to practical action, implying both good judgement and excellence of character and habits? Sometimes referred to as "practical virtue".
Have you ever thought about how you as a GP can cultivate phronesis into your ethical decision making and in turn make a positive difference to population well-being?
RCGP Cumbria brings you this interesting webinar in conjunction with Dr Mervyn Conroy Director of The Phronesis Foundation. This webinar will describe background research, the non-prescriptive 'reflection for discussion’ resources and allow participants to try out the resources. The research asked a large group of doctors 'What does it mean to them to make good/wise/ethical decisions for patients and their communities?' The findings from asking that question have been converted to a film series and app that capture the ‘collective practical wisdom’ conveyed.
