Bockingford® watercolour paper is Mould Made, giving it greater surface stability and helping it remain flatter when painted.

Whether you're working with expressive washes, multiple layers or wetter techniques, a more stable sheet can make the painting process easier and more enjoyable. The Mould Made manufacturing process helps Bockingford resist excessive distortion, allowing you to focus on your painting rather than the paper.

Want to learn more about why Mould Made papers perform differently? Our article ‘Secrets of why mould made papers stay flatter’ explores the science behind surface stability and why it matters to artists.

“Bockingford is a uniquely responsive paper that invites experimentation. Adding water into washes creates natural textures and striking edges with ease, effects that are harder to achieve on cotton papers.”

Bockingford® is often where a lifelong watercolour journey begins.

If you're new to watercolour, choosing paper can feel overwhelming. Should you choose HP, CP or Rough? What does 300gsm mean? Are pads, blocks or loose sheets best? And does paper quality really make a difference?

In our latest article, we break down everything beginners need to know about watercolour paper, including why many artists and tutors recommend starting with a quality Mould Made paper such as Bockingford® CP 300gsm.

A good paper won't make you a better painter overnight, but it will help washes flow properly, colours stay brighter, and techniques behave as intended.
