UCW students recently took a well-earned break from their studies during a 'Cake and Make' event, designed to help everyone unwind, get creative, and connect with fellow students and staff!🧁🍰

The students enjoyed a selection of delicious cakes and bakes, all while catching up with friends and meeting new people in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Alongside the refreshments, students had the chance to get involved in a variety of arts and crafts activities.

Our Assistant Practitioner students have been making a meaningful difference in the local community by creating a collection of hand-knitted items for babies receiving care in the NICU at Southmead Hospital NHS. 💙

Across two inspiring HE Health sessions focused on wellbeing, resilience, and person-centred care, Year 1 and Year 2 learners worked together to create more than 30 baby hats.

Several additional knitted items were donated to the unit, with hospital staff expressing their gratitude for the kindness and support shown by our learners.

A wonderful example of compassion, community engagement, and the values that underpin future healthcare professionals. 👶🧶

Students and staff from our Business Management & Sustainability programme recently welcomed representatives from North Somerset Council and the Centre for Sustainable Energy for an inspiring guest lecture exploring the future of energy production and sustainability in the UK ♻️

The visit provided learners with an opportunity to explore some of the most pressing environmental, economic, and social challenges facing communities today, while encouraging meaningful discussion around how energy is produced, distributed, and consumed.

Central to the sessions was the urgent need to transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems in order to meet the UK’s climate targets and create a more resilient future.
