Last week, students on our Sports Leaders (HSLA) course organised an inclusive NAK and Bocca event for invited schools from across Hampshire. Both NAK and Bocca are inclusive sports that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of physical ability.

The sports leaders are required to run an event as part of their Level 3 qualification and have run this one for the last 15+ years. They use this experience to develop their ability to work with SEND participants in a sporting environment which planning and leading an event is also a requirement to pass the Level 3 HSLA qualification.

Marlin, a staff member from King’s Academy Lord Wilson, which took part in the event, said: ''It was a brilliant day and the students loved it, thank you so much for inviting us and organising a great event! Your students were all brilliant with our students and a credit to your college.”

Today, we mark Holocaust Memorial Day, in remembrance of the millions of people murdered under N**i persecution and to mark the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

This year's theme for is 'For a Better Future' and highlights the prevention of identity-based persecution and discrimination. This encourages us to create a better future by speaking up and challenge prejudice. Prejudice has not ended and there is much to do to create a better future.

In our annual concert in honour of Holocaust Memorial Day, our talented students came together to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz with a heartfelt concert. Talia sang 'Far from the land I love'; Shoshana played the second movement of Smit's Flute Sonata; Laila played Remembrances from Schindler's List; and the vocal ensemble sang 'Even when God is silent' by Horvit.

It was truly an amazing concert and students gave outstanding performances.

Thanks to everyone involved!

Law students at PSC were treated to an interactive presentation this week from author, Andy West, who shared insights from his unique experiences. Andy’s latest novel, 'The Life Inside', has been named ‘an Irish Times and iBook of 2022’ with great reviews.

Louise Hoddinott, Law teacher at PSC, said: ''We were thrilled to have Andy West visit the College; it was a truly though-provoking morning. He offered a fascinating insight into our prison system through teaching in prisons for the last ten years. He inspired active discussion with our students on topics such as whether someone in prison can be more free than someone outside and whether prisons are inherently immoral''.

Yesterday, our Education and Early Years T Level students had the privilege of completing their Tigerlily practical pediatric first aid training.

The training covered areas such as CPR, choking, head injuries, bleeding burns, and much more! This hands-on experience is to equip students with the necessary skills for their placement.

One of the students, Eloise, said "It was really fun, a lot less scary than I thought it would be".

Spider's Web success for Peter Symonds' A Company of Fools!

Our student-led theatre group, A Company of Fools, put on a dazzling production of Agatha Christie's 'A Spider's Web' at the end of term. A classic ‘whodunnit’ with tension and laughter, the production had audiences riveted.

It was a fantastic event and well done to everyone involved, both on stage and behind the scenes!

Our Environmental Science students were able to experience a moment of calming tranquility before Christmas when they visited Sparsholt College.

Students were able to see the fishery facilities up close, and learn about the conditions needed to raise different fish species in aquaculture systems.

They were also able to observe state-of-the-art vertical hydroponic farm facility, giving them a real working example of the new agricultural technologies that they have been studying in class.
