The University of Wolverhampton is delighted to announce that the Rt Hon. Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, Speaker of the UK House of Commons, will become the University's next Chancellor.

Sir Lindsay succeeds Lord Paul of Marylebone, who served with distinction as Chancellor for 26 years. His unwavering commitment helped shape the University's growth, reputation and enduring civic mission.

Commenting on his appointment, Sir Lindsay Hoyle said: "I am deeply honoured to be appointed Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton. Throughout my public life, I have been passionate about creating opportunities for people and supporting communities to thrive. I look forward to meeting students, staff and graduates, and to championing a university that plays such an important role in its region while making a positive impact nationally and internationally."

Sir Lindsay's appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the University, reinforcing its commitment to shaping a more inclusive, prosperous and equitable future for the communities it serves.

Community organisations using sport and physical activity to strengthen communities and transform lives across Wolverhampton have been celebrated at the launch of the UK’s first Sport for Change Cities exhibition.

Hosted by the University of Wolverhampton in partnership with ConnectSport CIC, the exhibition brings together powerful photography, films and stories highlighting the people and organisations using sport to make a positive difference across the city. Wolverhampton has been selected as the pilot city for the wider Sport for Change Cities initiative.

🎉 10 students at the University of Wolverhampton will each receive a £1,000 Brighter Futures Grant

£10,000 has been set aside exclusively for students at the University of Wolverhampton. Whether it's helping with rent, bills, study equipment, or everyday living costs, winners can spend the money however they choose.

All students are eligible to enter, including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time, and full-time students. You don't need to bank with Santander to apply.
