Looking for things to do during half term with children? Check out the activities on at The Hive.

We've got a busy half-term planned at the Hive this October:

On the Monday, The Archives will be joining us in the Children's Library to do scrap booking and there will be a West African story time to celebrate Black History Month. On the Tuesday, after our usual Bounce&Rhyme sessions, we've planned Gruffalo Granny story times with crafts.
On the Wednesday we've got Papermaking workshops in conjunction with Severn Waste.
On the Thursday we have Illustrated Letters Workshops to book on to for £1.50 (https://tinyurl.com/Illustrated-Letters-Workshop)
And on Friday we'll be showing a Family Film.

All of these events will be running alongside our usual regular activities.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating the launch of our new Department for Inclusion, Communities and Educational Practice (DICEP) at the University of Worcester

Beginning with a warm welcome from Head of Institute of Education, Dr Rachael Paige and an introduction to the new DICEP from Head of Department, Jo Smith.

It was great to bring together colleagues, students and external partners to celebrate the launch of the department and to share more about our work.

The Department for Children and Families and the Department for Education and Inclusion have come together to form the new Department for Inclusion, Communities and Educational Practice (DICEP)!

We're excited to celebrate this new chapter at tomorrow's launch event and look forward to welcoming students past and present, professional partners, and representatives from across education, early years, research, community practice, social work, and healthcare.

Samantha Sutton-Tsang is currently overseeing the SPICE 2026 in collaboration with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong to bring English language to children in areas of Hong Kong, immersing them in an English language rich camp in a fun and engaging programme. It kickstarted with the Welcome dinner with the coordinators, interns and UK volunteers enjoying local cuisine in Ma on Shan.
