What a fantastic first day, filled with energy, learning and inspiration!🤩

We have loved watching our campus come back to life since the long summer break. From introductory lessons designed to help you break the ice with your new peers, an inspirational welcome talk from our Principal and CEO, Mark Bolton, and your first taste of your new study pathway, today has been a blast.

Here’s a breakdown of what our new students got up to today:

💼: T Level Business spent the morning with a game of “People Bingo” designed to get students up out of their seats and getting to know their peers better.

☕: Our new Hospitality & Catering students had the opportunity to explore our Da Vinci restaurant in depth whilst also learning the responsibilities of good customer service.

🎨: Creativity shone brightly in our Art & Design classes across campus. Students explored design briefs in detail, before having the opportunity to put their illustration skills to the test.

📚: A Level students dived straight into their curriculum-based activity, focusing all on helpful revision techniques. Learners spent time making a mind map on a topic they enjoy, which will help them pick up valuable revision tips to aid them in the future.

This year is already looking incredible; we are so glad you are a part of it!💙

We are beyond excited to congratulate Josh, formerly of Stanchester Academy, on achieving a Merit in T Level Business Management & Administration.💙

Josh has been at Yeovil College for four years, beginning at a Level 2 course and working hard to progress. Now on Level 3 Results Day 2026, his efforts have paid off as Josh will soon be attending the University of Exeter to study LLB Law with Professional Placement; in the future, Josh hopes to work within the corporate law sector, with his background in business giving him a great grounding. When asked about his time at Yeovil College, Josh shared:

“My time at Yeovil College has been transformational. I have progressed as a person as well as academically. All my lecturers have been very encouraging and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Tori from the Higher Education Team and my lecturers also supported me when applying for university and I’m excited to study Law at the University of Exeter!” ✨

The Hospitality Shining Star is Hannah!⭐

Formerly of Westfield Academy, Hannah was nominated for the outstanding progress she has made since starting out at Level 2. From joining us, her confidence has gown immensely. She leads shifts in our Da Vinci restaurant on campus and helps train the Level 2 students.

During her time on the Level 2 course, Hannah did her work experience at a local café, and they immediately offered her a job. She has been working there ever since, which is a testament to how good she is front of house. Her lecturers emphasised that she is a pleasure to teach and it’s brilliant to see her grow.👏

Recently, Radeon was the winner of our Progression Pathways Award at our 2026 Shining Star’s ceremony.👏

Radeon was nominated for his outstanding resilience, personal development, and exceptional engagement within his study programme. Over the course of this year, he has demonstrated remarkable strength, determination, and emotional maturity.💙

His growing confidence has been evident throughout his lessons, as he is always willing to take part in discussions, activities, and collaborative tasks. His consistent effort to learn highlights his potential and commitment to long-term progression.

We have had an incredible summer of school events! 🌟

📣 In June, we held our brilliant New Students’ Days for our September starters, giving learners an opportunity to meet their future classmates and lecturers.

📣 In June and July, over 1500 Year 10 students from local Somerset and Dorset secondary schools joined us to explore taster sessions in academic and vocational areas across college. With our Wild West twist, these days were a fun way to kick start their future!

📣To round it off, we invited over 1000 Year 8 learners to join us to begin their journey in thinking about next steps, careers and meeting employers! Having the chance to try a taster session of their choice at Yeovil College, this event was a blast.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, we can’t wait to see you in the future! 💙
