Thank you for your generous donations this week - and for the allotment rhubarb! Much appreciated 💚

Thank you to our community of local residents who’ve donated, the congregation at St Andrew’s and shoppers at The Bishy Weigh and Sainsbury’s on Bishy Road, Morrisons pick up a bag scheme, The , York Pet Foodbank and The Residence.

A reminder that we are looking for any excess allotment produce, which can be dropped at our sessions.

Neil Maddison from York Energy Advice will be at our session on Tuesday 23 June

Neil can provide free, impartial advice and support on a range of energy-related issues, including:

✅ Managing energy bills
✅ Reducing energy use and saving money
✅ Understanding and using smart meters
✅ Tackling cold, damp, and mould problems
✅ Draught-proofing your home

Come along and chat with Neil and remember to bring along any paperwork that may be helpful eg. bills

🌱 Calling all allotment holders in Scarcroft, Hospital Fields and Bustardthorpe 🌱

First of all, thank you. The support we received throughout last year’s growing season made a huge difference to local families.

Thanks to your generosity, people were able to enjoy more fresh, colourful and nutritious food on their tables. We were genuinely blown away by both the quality of the produce donated and the kindness behind every contribution 💜

As we head into a new growing season, we’d be grateful for any surplus crops you may have again this year.

A few things that help us most:
🥕 Little and often works best
🍎 Hardy fruit and vegetables are ideal, as we have limited storage space
⏰ Delivering at the start of a session helps us distribute produce on the same day.

You can drop donations off at Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, where volunteers are on site:
📍 Tuesdays & Fridays from 8:30am�📍 Wednesdays from 4:15pm
🌱 Please see the poster for full details.

We’d really appreciate it if you could share this message with your plot neighbours too.

And if you're further afield, why not check whether your local food bank could make use of any surplus produce you have growing?
