🎓✈️ Exchange Program — Another Success Story!

🔴 We are pleased to share that Omar Selim, a student of the School of Medicine at Ilia State University, has successfully completed one year of studies at the University of Halle in Germany within the Erasmus exchange program! 🇬🇪🇩🇪

His exchange included two semesters of the clinical studies within MD program and a clinical internship in surgery 🔬👨‍⚕️

Starting from this semester, our another student Nino Kobidze will follow the same pathway and undertake a one-year exchange at Halle University as well! 🌍📚

We warmly congratulate our students and wish them continued success on their academic and professional journey! 🎉

We also sincerely thank our partners at the University of Halle and University Hospital for their collaboration and support. 🤝💙

🎀 Pink Ribbon Festival at Ilia State University 🎀

🩷 The ISU Local Chapter of GIMSOC, in collaboration with the Intercultural Club of ISU, proudly hosted the Pink Ribbon Festival—a vibrant fundraising event dedicated to breast cancer awareness and patient support.
🩷 The festival featured a fun games and creative activities—all organized by student volunteers to spread awareness and hope.

🙏Special thanks to Miss Zhana Babunashvili, Director of the Pink Space, for her inspiring collaboration and continuous efforts in empowering women through education and advocacy. 👏

Together, we stand stronger in the fight against breast cancer!

🔴 On July 26, a heartfelt farewell ceremony for international students was held at the Ilia State University Theatre, hosted by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine.
🎓 This milestone event celebrated the graduation of the very first cohort from our MD educational program.
🎉 The School of Medicine proudly congratulates our graduates as they begin the next exciting chapter of their medical journey. We wish them continued success and fulfillment in all their future endeavors!

🔴 ილია სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის სამედიცინო სკოლის ხელმძღვანელმა, პროფ. ივანე აბიათარმა და კლინიკური უნარების ცენტრის ხელმძღვანელმა, კონსტანტინე გოგიჩაიშვილმა მონაწილეობა მიიღეს SESAM 2025-ის წლიურ კონფერენციაში, რომელიც გაიმართა ვალენსიაში (ესპანეთი).

🔴 SESAM (Society for Simulation in Europe) წარმოადგენს ერთ-ერთ წამყვან საერთაშორისო ფორუმს, რომელიც ეძღვნება სიმულაციური სწავლების განვითარებასა და სამედიცინო განათლებაში მის ინტეგრაციას. კონფერენცია აერთიანებს სამედიცინო პედაგოგებს, მკვლევრებს, კლინიცისტებსა და სიმულაციის სპეციალისტებს მთელი ევროპიდან და მის ფარგლებს გარედან, განიხილონ საუკეთესო პრაქტიკა, ტექნოლოგიური სიახლეები და ინოვაციური მიდგომები სამედიცინო განათლებაში.

🔴 SESAM 2025-ზე მონაწილეობამ შესაძლებლობა მოგვცა განგვეხილა კლინიკური სიმულაციის უახლესი მიდგომები, სწავლების პროცესში მისი ეფექტური ინტეგრაცია, შეფასების თანამედროვე მეთოდები და მრავალდარგობრივი თანამშრომლობა. ასევე, კონფერენციამ ხელი შეუწყო საერთაშორისო პარტნიორული კავშირების დამყარებას, რაც მნიშვნელოვნად გააძლიერებს ილიას სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის სამედიცინო სკოლას.

🙏 განსაკუთრებული მადლობა კომპანია Tbilisi Medic-ს ამ ვიზიტის დაფინანსებისთვის. მათი მხარდაჭერა მნიშვნელოვანი იყო ჩვენი აკადემიური პერსონალისთვის, რათა უშუალოდ გაცნობოდნენ თანამედროვე სამედიცინო განათლების სტანდარტებს და საქართველოში შემოეტანათ საერთაშორისო გამოცდილება.

🔴 Prof. Ivane Abiatari, Head of the Medical School at Ilia State University, and Dr. Konstantine Gogichashvili, Head of the Clinical Skills Center, participated in the SESAM 2025 Annual Meeting held in Valencia, Spain.

🔴 The SESAM (Society for Simulation in Europe) conference is one of the leading international events dedicated to simulation-based education and research in healthcare. The annual meeting brings together medical educators, researchers, clinicians, and simulation professionals from across Europe and beyond, to exchange best practices, explore technological advancements, and promote innovation in medical training.

🔴 Participation in SESAM 2025 provided valuable insights into the latest developments in clinical simulation, curriculum integration, assessment methods, and interdisciplinary training. It also allowed for direct engagement with international leaders in the field and the establishment of potential academic collaborations. These experiences will directly contribute to the further development of simulation-based education at Ilia State University’s Medical School.

🙏 We express our sincere gratitude to Tbilisi Medic for their generous support in funding this visit. Their contribution played a key role in enabling our faculty members to engage with global medical education standards that will enhance the quality of clinical training in Georgia.

📯MERC Conference 2025: Translating Research into Clinical Oncology

🔴The MERC Conference 2025 which was conducted at School of Medicine, Ilia State University on 21st of June, was focused on bridging the gap between research and clinical practice in oncology. The program included presentations on advanced surgical methods, emerging therapies, and the future of pancreatic cancer treatment.

🟥We thank all our national and international speakers: Dr. Yoshiaki Sunami, Dr. Zviad Malazonia, Dr. Anna Geguchadze and Dr. Ana Tsereteli for sharing their expertise and our participants for their active involvement. Your contributions made the event a success.

🔴2024 წლის ოქტომბერ-ნოემბერში ილიას სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის მედიცინის სკოლაში გაიმართა ტრენინგების სერია, რომელიც მიეძღვნა მედიცინის სტუდენტების სამეცნიერო-კვლევითი უნარების განვითარებას და გაუმჯობესებას. ტრენინგი მოიცავდა როგორც თანამედროვე ბიო-სამედიცინო კვლევის მეთოდების სწავლებას, ასევე აკადემიური წერის ტექნიკების გამომუშავებას.
🟥30 ნოემბერს გაიმართა დასკვნითი სემინარი, რომლის ფარგლებში დაფუძნდა სტუდენტური "სამედიცინო განათლების და კვლევის კლუბი" (Medical Education & Research Club).
🟥აღნიშნული ღონისძიებები გაიმართა კონკურენტული ინოვაციების ფონდის (CIF) მიერ დაფინანსებული პროექტის: „InTech4MED - ინოვაცია და ტექნოლოგია მედიცინაში“ ფარგლებში, რომელშიც ჯამში 100-მდე მედიცინის სტუდენტმა მიიღო მონაწილეობა.
