The Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture is a postgraduate research and training Institute fully accredited by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education as a tertiary institution with a Presidential Charter to award its own degrees. It is a research university promoting African innovation and excellence and dedicated to the study and documentation of Christian history, thought and life in Ghana and in Africa as a whole, in relation to their African setting and to world Christianity. ACI seeks to strengthen Christian witness in the modern Africa and world context through Christian scholarship. Named after two past great scholars of the Twi language and pioneer figures in the cultural witness of the Church in Ghana, Clement Anderson Akrofi and Johannes Gottlieb Christaller, the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture (ACI) (formerly Akrofi-Christaller Memorial Centre for Mission Research and Applied Theology, ACMC) seeks to be at the cutting edge of the church’s mission and encounter with society and culture in Ghana, Africa and the wider world. The Institute stands in a tradition that combines piety, creativity and academic excellence in the furtherance of the witness to the gospel in Ghana and across Africa. The Institute was formally established in 1987 as an independent body, a company limited by guarantee and registered under the Companies Code as a charity. The legal and administrative structures of the Institute were designed with a view to creating an institution that would be sustainable, financially self-supporting and sufficiently open to serve also the needs of the wider Christian and academic communities. WELCOME SERVICE 2026 | A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS AT ACI 🎓🙏🏽
A new journey begins at the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture (ACI) as we welcome our new students into a community of faith, scholarship, character and spiritual transformation and service to God and man.

Today, Wednesday, 19 August 2026 the ACI community gathers for the Welcome Service, with Dr. Joshua Settles as preacher.

📖 Scripture: Acts 6:1–10
⏰ 8:00 a.m. prompt

As our new students begin their journey at ACI, this service is an opportunity to worship together, seek God’s direction and reflect on the call to grow in wisdom, faith and service.

Our prayer is that this new chapter will be marked by wisdom, spiritual growth, academic excellence, purpose and a deeper commitment to Christ and His mission.
