ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS

DEREE-The American College of Greece has decided to enhance its athletic program in order to provide student-athletes with extraordinary skills the opportunity to participate in a highly developed sports program, while simultaneously participating in a top quality academic program.
Therefore, athletic scholarships covering 20% of tuition fees are awarded to athletes of the following sports:
• Women’s Volleyball,
• Women’s Basketball.
The students-athletes who will be selected for the scholarship program will get offered the unique opportunity to participate in a comprehensive athletic program under the guidance of top and experienced coaches. Practices will take place at the outstanding athletic facilities of the American College of Greece, which include:
• two (2) indoor basketball/volleyball gyms ,
• an Olympic-sized swimming pool,
• a soccer field with synthetic turf,
• six (6) lane track with tartan ,
• seven (7) tennis courts ,
• outdoor basketball and volleyball courts , and
• a Fitness Center with state-of-the-art equipment of the latest technology.
Eligibility requirements
Scholarship candidates should:
1. meet all requirements for admission to the college,
2. be evaluated by a college committee, which will assess their athletic skills and potential to develop,
3. be eligible to play for DEREE teams,
4. attend all practices, games, tournaments and events of their team,
5. achieve and maintain a minimum average of 2.00 in their cumulative index (CI) by the end of their second semester.
The athletic scholarships are granted for one (1) academic year and may be renewed if all requirements are fulfilled or discontinued earlier otherwise.
