ART & CONSTRUCTION WITH NATURAL MATERIALS
FULL IMMERSION NELLA TERRA, CHANIA EDITION, Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme
The School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete organises
two on-line sessions and a 5 day hands-on workshop on earthen art and
architecture and sustainable practices, and a guided tour to local earthen
architecture.
The BIP Erasmus + program brings together students and faculty members
from European universities to explore the creative and sustainable potential
of raw earth, wood, and plant-based fibers.
The hands-on workshop will be coordinated by professionals trained at
CRAterre and will take place at Bioclimatic and Earthen Desing Laboratory, at
K4, University Campus Kounoupidiana, Chania (Crete, Greece).
Through online sessions and a five-day in-person workshop, participants will
experiment with natural building techniques, earthen plasters, ephemeral
constructions, and small-scale installations, connecting sustainable
architecture with artistic practice.
Participants will learn to employ earth and other natural materials for arts,
crafts and construction.
The program will be conducted in English and offers 4 ECTS.
