Μια αξέχαστη και μοναδική εμπειρία Erasmus+ σε ένα από τα αρχαιότερα πανεπιστήμια του κόσμου – το Πανεπιστήμιο της Coimbra στην Πορτογαλία – Σχολή Τεχνών και Ανθρωπιστικών Σπουδών – Τμήμα Φιλοσοφίας, Επικοινωνίας και Πληροφορίας (University of Coimbra . Faculty of Arts and Humanities - Department of Philosophy, Communication and Information). Τι να πω πρώτο; Για το μάθημα στα αμφιθέατρα; Για το ενδιαφέρον των φοιτητών και των φοιτητριών αλλά και των καθηγητριών; Για τον ιστορικό χώρο που αποτελεί μνημείο της Παγκόσμιας Πολιτισμικής Κληρονομιάς UNESCO; Για την περίφημη ιστορική βιβλιοθήκη; Για τους ίδιους τους φοιτητές και τις φοιτήτριες εκ των οποίων πολλοί και πολλές τηρώντας μια παράδοση αιώνων συνεχίζουν να φορούν την πανεπιστημιακή στολή;
The opportunity to visit the oldest university in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world via the Erasmus+ program was a truly unique experience. The University of Coimbra was founded one century after the birth of the nation by King Dinis, who signed the "Scientiae Thesaurus Mirabilis" document in 1290. Not only the university, but also Coimbra itself—the charming city of the Mondego River—is absolutely beautiful. It is a lively city, full of passionate fado music and rich in historical sites. Because the university is integrated throughout Coimbra, it has truly become a vibrant "University City." With more than seven centuries of history, the university possesses a unique tangible and intangible heritage, making it a cornerstone of scientific culture both in Europe and the world. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013 and has educated some of Portugal's most outstanding cultural, scientific, and political figures. It was a true honor and joy for me to deliver a lecture in such a prestigious setting.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Liliana Isabel Esteves Gomes (Mobility Coordinator) for the warm invitation, as well as Maria Manuel Lopes de Figueiredo Costa Marques Borges (Associate Professor with Habilitation in Information Science) and Maria Manuela Santos Tavares de Matos Cardoso (Invited Assistant Professor) for inviting me to deliver a lecture in their courses, and for their invaluable help, insightful questions, and excellent, prolific cooperation. The visit and the guided tours of the Palace, the famous Joanine Library, and the laboratories will remain unforgettable. Finally, I would like to sincerely thank the Γραφείο Erasmus Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου- Ionian University's Erasmus Office
Ionian University's Erasmus Office especially the helpful and efficient staff— Dimitra Kokkali , Christina Nikopoulou, and Angela Krokidiokidi—as well as our Department Coordinator, Prof. Stavros Vlizos , and the President, Prof. Sfakakis.
