The Laboratory of Archaeometry in operation since 2010, is part of the Department of History, Archaeology and Cultural Resources Management of the University of the Peloponnese and is situated in the city of Kalamata. It specialises in analytical, non-invasive research of archaeological collections, absolute dating and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction studies. The Laboratory is active in a regio

โ˜€ The Pylos Geoarchaeological Field School provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate students in anthropology, archaeology, and sciences to participate in full-scale projects, including extensive surface survey, excavation, conservation, laboratory analysis of artefacts/geoarchaeological materials, as well as aerial/ground survey (UAS, TLS, etc.).

โ„น The Pylos Geoarchaeological Program (GEAPP) is a five-year (2021-2025) synergy between the Ephorate of Antiquities of Messenia and the Laboratory of Archaeometry of the Department of History, Archaeology and Cultural Resources Management โ€“ University of Peloponnese. Its purpose is to investigate the natural, archaeological, and cultural environment of the coastal zone of Pylos, Messenia (Greece).

๐Ÿ•” Duration: June 16 โ€“ 13 July (4 weeks*)

๐Ÿ“ Location: Pylos-Kalamata (Greece)

Studies in the interdisciplinary field of Archaeological Science aim to bridge the gap between archaeology and the physical sciences. CultTech MSc is designed to provide broad but detailed theoretical knowledge, as well as practical experience in the major applications of science in archaeology.

The MSc program is mainly addressed to graduates of schools of heritage conservation, archaeology, cultural heritage, material science and engineering. Graduates of similar or relevant fields are also welcome to apply.
