The INVEST European University Alliance brings together Slovak University of Agriculture (SUA) in Nitra Slovakia, University of Agribusiness and Rural Development (UARD) in Plovdiv Bulgaria, University of Thessaly (UTH) in Volos Greece, Karelia University of Applied Sciences (Karelia) in Joensuu, Finland and Van Hall Larenstein, University of Applied Sciences (VHL) in Leeuwarden and Velp Netherlands in a shared extensive experience and a common profile as internationalized institutions for the implementation of European Commission initiative for the formation and evaluation of European Universities.

Take an idea further and evaluate the potential of different business model options.

Student Blast opened the new academic year at Joensuu Market Square, bringing students together to explore opportunities offered by higher education institutions in Eastern Finland. Karelia-ammattikorkeakoulu , one of the INVEST partner universities, was among the organisers of the event.

At the INVEST stand, students rolled the dice and took on fun challenges inspired by the countries and cultures of the INVEST partner universities. The activities offered a playful way to get to know the alliance partners better and discover small insights into their cultures.

Students also had the chance to learn more about the opportunities INVEST offers, including international mobility, online courses and other ways to gain international experience during their studies.

We upgraded the EDUC8EU AI Assistant!

Students can now explore their EDUC8EU recommendation with a smoother and more consistent AI-supported chat experience.

The new version offers:
โœจ improved follow-up answers
โœจ better use of the learnerโ€™s report context
โœจ clearer formatting of answers
โœจ improved handling of links and structured information
โœจ English voice input support

The assistant can help students understand their recommendation, personality profile, skill gaps and possible next steps.

The INVEST European University Alliance continues to foster international collaboration by hosting a COST Action Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at the University of Thessaly.

The collaboration brings together expertise from Greece and Tรผrkiye to advance AI-supported academic and career guidance. Through interviews with students, academic advisors, and career guidance experts, the project aims to identify the factors that influence students' academic interests and career choices.

The outcomes will contribute to the further enhancement of the EDUC8EU academic recommendation system and support the preparation of a joint scientific publication.

For one intensive week, SUA Nitra hosted the FUTOUR โ€“ Future of Sustainable Tourism program, bringing together students from 6 countries: Spain, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, and Slovakia.
Between April 20โ€“24, 2026, multidisciplinary and international student teams worked tirelessly to create a sustainable tourism development strategy for the municipality of Topoฤพฤianky. ๐Ÿ“ˆ
The intensive real-world program included: ๐Ÿ“š Interactive workshops and empirical field research, interviews and focus groups with local stakeholders (Local Action Group Tribeฤsko, the Mayor of Topoฤพฤianky, Park Topoฤพฤianky civic association, and Medovnรญkovo) ๐Ÿฐ A guided tour of Topoฤพฤianky Castle and a visit to Chรขteau Topoฤพฤianky ๐ŸŽ Visits to the National Stud Farm Topoฤพฤianky and the European Bison Reserve
The final day culminated in brilliant presentations where teams shared their recommendations based on a week of hard work. The program concluded with a joint visit to the Slovak University of Agriculture and Nitra Castle, allowing participants to experience our vibrant university environment. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ
The FUTOUR Summer School provided not just professional knowledge, but an immersive experience emphasizing teamwork and bridging theory with practice.

The INVEST Training of Trainers in Thessaloniki has been completed!

Hosted by the University of Thessaly, the ToT brought together administrators and technical staff from INVEST partner universities for hands-on training on the digital services developed by UTH: the Virtual Campus, EDUC8EU, Mobility Journal and Micro-credentials Platform.

The event helped prepare new INVEST digital ambassadors who will support the activation and use of these platforms across the Alliance.

The INVEST Summer School in Thessaloniki brought students from INVEST partner universities together for a week of learning, collaboration and exchange.

Hosted by the University of Thessaly, the programme focused on **Building Smart and Sustainable Regions**, with lectures, group projects, an educational visit, student presentations and awards.

Students explored topics including sustainability, mobility, food systems, circular bioeconomy, digital innovation and regional development.

Today, students present their group projects and share the ideas they developed throughout the week on smart and sustainable regions.
The programme concludes with evaluation, awards and closing remarks, celebrating collaboration, creativity and the work of our INVEST students.
