Professor Leslie Szamosi. Dean of our Business School, and Dr. Petros Golitsis, Assistant Professor, were honoured keynote speakers at the international “Eco-Wisdom: Traditional Knowledge for Ecological Sustainability” conference organised and hosted by S.I.W.S. (N.R. Swamy College of Commerce & Economics and Smt. Thirumalai College of Science) in Mumbai, India. They shared their expertise on sustainable development, while our graduate Aurovinda Ganguly also contributed to the programme.

Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis, our Vice-Provost for Research and Innovation and President of the Board of the Alexander Innovation Zone, gave an interview to the print edition of ka-business.gr, published as part of the 90th Thessaloniki International Exhibition.

Efrosini Psychopoulou, our MBA alumna and Managing Director of Ammon Zeus Luxury Beach Hotel, shares her experience working with our students on two consultancy projects that delivered practical insights and professional solutions.
“I led two practicum projects of students from the Business School, of the University of York Europe Campus under the academic supervision of Chris Liasidis. Both projects were very interesting. One focused on HR, which is one of the biggest challenges across all industries today. The team was required to investigate how a company can become an attractive employer through effective employer branding and how employee turnover can be kept low. The second project focused on developing a social media marketing plan. Both projects were developed for Ammon Zeus Luxury Beach Hotel, located in Kallithea, Chalkidiki.
Both teams were enthusiastic and conducted in-depth research into the company's mission and vision, while also carrying out a SWOT analysis. They carefully followed all the guidance, tips, and information I provided and incorporated all the suggested improvements. The projects were presented smoothly and very professionally, showcasing the valuable outcomes of their work.
I would like to wish all students who contributed to these projects every success in achieving their personal and professional goals!”

Our MBA students from across Europe and beyond came together in York for a week of academic learning, collaboration and networking. Bringing together participants from Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Baku, Yerevan and the online cohort, the Study Week featured the Corporate Financial Management module, delivered by Professor John Ashton, Dr Agnieszka Trzeciakiewicz and Professor Mark Rhodes from the University of York’s School for Business and Society, alongside a Negotiation Skills seminar led by Dr Tom Hutcheson. Beyond the classroom, students strengthened connections and built lasting professional relationships, further enriching the international MBA experience.

We are delighted to share that our BSc (Hons) Psychology students Sofia-Eleni Peltetzi, Nikoleta Karvounidou, Eleni Zournatsidou, and Kalina Taleska will present their research at the upcoming Developmental Psychology Conference in Thessaloniki.

The students' research has been supervised by Dr Ifigeneia Manitsa, Lecturer in the Psychology Department, who will also present her own research at the conference and serves as the Symposium Organiser. Nikoleta Karvounidou and Eleni Zournatsidou will present alongside Dr Manitsa during the symposium.

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our alumna, Georgina.

Although she graduated only recently, Georgina left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was full of energy and enthusiasm, approached every opportunity with passion and positivity, and had a wonderful sense of humour that could brighten even the busiest of days. She cared deeply for others and had a way of making people feel seen, valued and welcome.

As a member of our Business School family, Georgina embodied the spirit of our community - not only through her academic journey, but through the kindness, optimism and joy she brought to those around her. She reminded us that the greatest impact we have is often through the way we make others feel.

Her passing is a heartbreaking loss, and she will be deeply missed by classmates, alumni, faculty and friends. While words cannot lessen the sadness of losing someone so young, we hope her family and loved ones find comfort in knowing how many lives she touched and how fondly she will be remembered.

Georgina will always remain part of our alumni community. We will remember her smile, her laughter and the bright light she brought to our Business School.
