Student Mobility at the Core of European Higher Education
Με πρωτοβουλία της Αντιπρυτανείας Ακαδημαϊκών Υποθέσεων και Ανάπτυξης, στο πλαίσιο του Aristotle Innovation Forum “Aristotle meets AI”, πραγματοποιήθηκε μια ουσιαστική συζήτηση με επίκεντρο τον ρόλο της φοιτητικής κινητικότητας στην ευρωπαϊκή ανώτατη εκπαίδευση.
Τη συζήτηση συντόνισε ο Καθηγητής του Τμήματος Βιολογίας και Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής του Τμήματος Ευρωπαϊκών Εκπαιδευτικών Προγραμμάτων του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης, κ. Αλέξανδρος Τριανταφυλλίδης.
Στο panel συμμετείχαν:
• Valeria Costantino, Εκπρόσωπος της Πρυτανείας για το ERASMUS, Università Federico II di Napoli & Καθηγήτρια Οργανικής Χημείας, Πανεπιστήμιο Νάπολης “Federico II”;
• Marián Morón, Αντιπρύτανης Διεθνοποίησης, Πανεπιστήμιο Pablo de Olavide, Σεβίλλη;
• Dalibor Đukić, Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής και Αντιπρόεδρος Διεθνούς Συνεργασίας της Νομικής Σχολής, Πανεπιστήμιο Βελιγραδίου;
• João Bacelar, Executive Manager του European University Foundation (EUF);
• κα. Ιωάννα Γεωργιάδου, Προϊσταμένη του Τμήματος Ευρωπαϊκών Εκπαιδευτικών Προγραμμάτων του ΑΠΘ.
Η συζήτηση ανέδειξε βασικές παραμέτρους που διαμορφώνουν το μέλλον της κινητικότητας:
• την ανάγκη ενίσχυσης της χρηματοδότησης για πιο ισότιμη πρόσβαση
• τον ρόλο της βραχυχρόνιας, blended και virtual κινητικότητας στη διεύρυνση της συμμετοχής
• ζητήματα προσβασιμότητας και συμπερίληψης
• τη σημασία της αυτόματης ακαδημαϊκής αναγνώρισης
• τον συνεχιζόμενο ψηφιακό μετασχηματισμό του Erasmus+
Η συζήτηση ανέδειξε ότι η φοιτητική κινητικότητα δεν αποτελεί μόνο μια εμπειρία στο εξωτερικό, αλλά έναν ουσιαστικό μηχανισμό ενίσχυσης της συνεργασίας και της εξωστρέφειας στην ευρωπαϊκή ανώτατη εκπαίδευση.

With the initiative of the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs and Development, and within the framework of the Aristotle Innovation Forum “Aristotle meets AI”, a meaningful discussion was held focusing on the role of student mobility in European higher education.
The discussion was moderated by Prof. Alexandros Triantafyllidis, Professor at the Department of Biology and Chair of the Committee of the Department of European Educational Programmes of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
The panel featured:
• Valeria Costantino, Rector’s Delegate Office for ERASMUS, Università Federico II di Napoli & Professor of Organic Chemistry, University of Naples “Federico II”
• Marián Morón, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, University Pablo de Olavide, Seville
• Dalibor Đukić, Associate Professor and Vice Dean for International Cooperation, University of Belgrade Faculty of Law
• João Bacelar, Executive Manager of the European University Foundation (EUF)
• Ioanna Georgiadou, Head of the Department of European Educational Programmes at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
The discussion highlighted key parameters shaping the future of student mobility:
• the need to strengthen funding for more equitable access
• the role of short-term, blended, and virtual mobility in widening participation
• issues of accessibility and inclusion
• the importance of automatic academic recognition
• the ongoing digital transformation of Erasmus+
The discussion showed that student mobility is not only an experience abroad, but a meaningful mechanism for strengthening cooperation, internationalisation, and openness in European higher education.
