The IET Hong Kong Students Section - Hong Kong The IETHK Students Section welcomes all Universities' Engineering Students to join.

We act as a bridge between students and the real world, helping our young engineering members to broaden their horizons by experiencing the latest applications of engineering and technology around them. We recently had an incredible opportunity to go on a technical visit to Hong Kong with 16 participants. As one of Hong Kong’s most iconic and historic modes of transport, getting a closer look at the engineering and daily operations behind the beloved ”Ding Ding“ was an eye-opening experience for all of us.

From classroom discussions to on-site inspections, it was an inspiring experience that connected theory with real-world practice. A big thank you to HK Tramways for welcoming us and sharing their expertise !!!

Step into the heart of Hong Kong’s iconic “Ding Ding” with our exclusive Technical Visit to Hong Kong Tramways! Organized by the IET Students Section (Hong Kong), this free tour offers a rare chance to explore the Whitty Street Tram Depot, discover how double-deck trams are built and maintained, and learn about the systems that keep 150,000 daily passengers moving smoothly. Join us on 1 June 2026 for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience — spaces are limited, so don’t miss out! Details of the technical visit are as follows:
