【A Life Changing Experience at King’s College London】
Participating in an overseas exchange programme was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences in my university life. It provided a valuable opportunity to step beyond my comfort zone and immerse myself in British culture. From experiencing local traditions to engaging with people from diverse backgrounds, this journey broadened my horizons, enriched my personal growth, and deepened my appreciation of cultural diversity.
Studying psychology and global health at King’s College London (KCL) was both eye-opening and rewarding. Psychology enhanced my understanding of the factors shaping human behaviour and mental processes, while global health emphasised the importance of international collaboration, health equity, and primary care. These valuable insights have shaped my perspective as a nursing student, encouraging a more holistic approach to patient care, focusing not only on treatment but also on disease prevention and health promotion.
Travelling across Europe was another highlight of the programme, allowing me to experience diverse cultures, histories, and lifestyles firsthand. Each destination brought new perspectives and memorable encounters, expanding my understanding of the world beyond my own community. The friendships formed along the way have become lifelong memories that I will always cherish.
Living independently in a foreign country was both challenging and rewarding. Adapting to a new environment, managing daily responsibilities, and overcoming unexpected difficulties required resilience and determination. This experience has helped me to be more confident, independent and adaptable. The personal growth I achieved will continue to support my academic journey, professional career, and future endeavours.
