📝We are excited to share our latest study, which uncovers the pivotal role of small extracellular vesicle (sEV)-delivered nidogen 1 (NID1) in driving liver cancer progression and metastasis. Our research demonstrates that NID1-enriched sEVs enhance oncogenic behaviors in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through activation of the TGM3-mediated YAP/TAZ signaling cascade, underscoring the sEV-NID1-TGM3 axis as a promising therapeutic target for HCC. Importantly, we show that targeting NID1 with a novel monoclonal antibody effectively suppresses tumor growth and metastasis in multiple HCC models.

📢Excited to share our latest review: Machine Learning-Enhanced Extracellular Vesicle Omics in Oncology! Discover how machine learning is unlocking the potential of EVs as liquid biopsy biomarkers for early cancer detection, prognosis, and treatment response. We provide a comprehensive overview of advances across transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics, discuss key challenges, and highlight emerging directions like single-vesicle profiling and multimodal integration.

Our team recently visited the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University for an enriching academic exchange. We enjoyed insightful presentations from postdoctoral fellows representing HKU, CUHK, PolyU, and Harbin Medical University. The trip also included visits to other institutions and innovative startups, along with site tours and delicious local cuisine. An inspiring and enjoyable experience for all ☺️

I am truly honored to receive the Outstanding Research Student Supervisor Award. Over the past 21 years as a supervisor, I have been fortunate to work with dedicated students and an incredibly supportive team. This moment is made even more meaningful by the presence of Professor Wendy Hsiao, who was my supervisor 30 years ago, at the ceremony. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey!
