Here’s to a new year of connection, care, and peer-to-peer support! ✨

We are excited to welcome our new cohort of Postgraduate Student Ambassadors as they begin their journey in championing engagement and wellbeing across the RPg community. The annual HKU Postgraduate Student Ambassadors Inauguration cm Appreciation Ceremony was held last Friday, with over 80 Publicity and Wellness Ambassadors coming together to celebrate the achievements of the past year and to kick off the 2026/27 Postgraduate Student Ambassadors Programme. The event was filled with inspiring exchanges and an uplifting sense of belonging.

A special highlight of the day was the sharing by Ms. Anthea Yung from Rise Wise, joined by Wanda, the golden retriever therapy dog! Through interactive demonstrations, participants learned more about animal-assisted therapy and experienced how therapy dogs can bring calm, joy, and emotional support to those around them. 🐾

We were also pleased to have our wellness partners — CEDARS, the Centre for Sports and Exercise and the HKJC Centre for Su***de Research and Prevention to introduce the upcoming training opportunities and monthly wellness activities. With this year’s theme, “Thrive Together,” we look forward to seeing our ambassadors foster stronger peer connections and promote a supportive culture.

All RPg students, let’s take part, reach out, and grow together as we continue building a positive and inclusive community at HKU! 💚

Professor Dong-Yan Jin, Senior Associate Dean of HKU Graduate School, recently visited Shanghai to promote our world-class research postgraduate programmes and strengthen collaborations with leading universities. On October 13-14, he delivered insightful admission talks at Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Duke Kushan University, engaging with prospective students and academic partners. 🎓

The event at Fudan University attracted enthusiastic students from member institutions of the Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance, including Tongji University, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, and others, highlighting HKU’s commitment to attracting top talent worldwide.

As we continue to expand our global network🌏, HKU remains committed to attracting outstanding talent from Shanghai and around the world. We are excited about the opportunities ahead to collaborate, innovate, and make a positive impact on society.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined the HKU PhD & MPhil Info Day 2026. Around 2,000 prospective applicants took part in the event to explore HKU’s research postgraduate opportunities, hear from our academic colleagues and students, and learn more about the PhD and MPhil application journey.
