On 3 August 2026, the ElectriQ team, led by ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ. ๐ฌ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ป alongside PhD students ๐ฌ๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐๐ต๐๐ผ ๐๐, ๐ฌ๐๐ท๐ถ ๐๐ฎ๐ผ, and ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐ป from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), was awarded ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ ๐ค๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐๐บ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ (๐ข๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ค ๐๐๐ฝ).๐๐ป๐
Organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF) and co-hosted with leading industry partners including Origin Quantum, the CCF Quantum Computing Programming Challenge is a premier competition that aims to advance quantum algorithm design and practical quantum software development. The competition attracts top talent from universities, research institutes, and industry worldwide, and is widely recognized for its high academic and technical standards.
The 2026 challenge featured two competitive stages: a preliminary round focused on quantum programming and algorithmic implementation, followed by a final defense where shortlisted teams presented their solutions to an expert panel. Out of 227 participating teams in the Professional Track, only two were awarded First Prize, underscoring the team's exceptional achievement.
This highlights the team's outstanding capabilities in quantum algorithm design and showcases the innovative, high-impact research produced through faculty-student collaboration at MAE CUHK.โญ๐๐ป
