🤖 Humanoid Robots Debut as Registration Opens for 42 LTTC Workshops

From humanoid robots to VR metaverse setups, the latest educational technologies were on display at the LTTC Roadshow! Over 350 EdUHK students and staff joined us at the STEM Innovation Hub to test out the latest in educational tech, hands-on.

Highlights from the floor: 🤖 The debut of the Unitree R1 humanoid robot at our REI Lab—testing its mobility, chat abilities, and balance. ✍️ An interactive robotic arm reproducing digital handwriting in real time via Python and inverse kinematics. 🥽 Immersive VR, metaverse spaces, and AI tools like the AI4EDU Innovation Hub.

We also kicked off with a packed seminar by Manson Chung (Business Development Manager, VOTANIC Limited) on building AI-powered immersive learning environments—no coding required!

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2027/28 is now open for applications! Designed to attract the world’s brightest talent, the Scheme offers outstanding students the opportunity to pursue PhD studies at universities in Hong Kong, China.

The Fellowship provides each awardee with a monthly stipend of HK$28,700* (approx. US$3,660), and an annual allowance of HK$14,400 (approx. US$1,840) for conference and research-related travel, for up to 3 years! 👨🏻‍🎓

Successful awardees who register with EdUHK will be provided with on-campus accommodation # during their normative study period.

🤝復旦教大簽署合作協議 開啟滬港高校協作新篇

復旦大學校長、中國科學院院士金力教授於9月4日率代表團訪問香港教育大學（教大），與教大校長李子建教授及管理人員會面，並簽署學術合作及學生交流協議，標誌兩校合作由院系層面進一步提升至全校戰略合作。

教大與復旦合作可追溯至2005年，近年來一直持續深化交流。本次會面雙方探討了在新聞與傳播、全球治理與外交、教育學、心理學、人工智能等範疇的合作可能，以推動聯合研究、課程共建、師生互訪及學生交流。

李子建教授表示，是次兩校合作是香港師範及專業教育與內地頂尖綜合大學的優勢聯動，對推動滬港學術互動、配合區域發展具有示範作用。

金力教授高度肯定教大的辦學特色及近年發展成果，雙方將以今次協議為基礎，加強「AI+教育」研究合作，共同探索智能時代的教育科技與人才培育模式。

座談期間，兩校代表就戰略合作進行交流。教大梳理兩校現有合作成果，並分享未來協作計劃。

出席座談及簽約儀式的雙方代表包括：復旦大學港澳台事務辦公室副主任黃潔女士、項目主管米雪女士、學校辦公室李加祺先生。教大協理副校長（內地協作及發展）兼傳訊及協作處長蓋會霞女士、助理副校長（研究）谷明月教授、教育發展與創新學院聯席執行院長梁佩雲教授、環球事務處署理處長李貴生教授、教學科技中心總監鄭國城博士、教育發展與創新學院聯席副院長何振聲博士、傳訊處項目主任莊園博士，以及校長室行政主任潘子璇女士。

EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin Receives PVCHK 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award

Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President of EdUHK, was presented with the 2026 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries (PVCHK) today, in recognition of his sustained contributions to educational development, teacher education and industry–academia collaboration.

The 2026 Honorary Fellowship and Fellowship Presentation Ceremony was held at EdUHK’s Tai Po Campus, with Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government, officiating at the ceremony and Ms May Leung Lai, President of PVCHK, delivering remarks.

Established by PVCHK in 2004, the Outstanding Achievement Award recognises individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their professional fields. PVCHK commended Professor Lee for his longstanding commitment to educational policy research and teacher education, his contributions to curriculum development and educational innovation, and his efforts to strengthen connections between education, society and industry. Through promoting knowledge transfer and application, his work has made a far-reaching impact on Hong Kong’s educational and social development.

EdUHK is proud to introduce its brand-new Grab and Go food service, adding fresh variety to our existing outlets.

At lunchtime today, President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, Vice President (Academic) Professor May Cheng May-hung, Vice President (Research and Development) Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin, and Vice President (Administration) Dr Tom Fong Wing-ho joined members of the University's management team to serve freshly-made treats for students. From baking pizzas to preparing meals, they rolled up their sleeves and brought plenty of energy to the occasion! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳
