ELE Researchers and RPg Students Support English Education in Malang and the TEFLIN Community

During 17–21 August 2026, Dr Ju Seong Lee, RPg student Ms Xie Han, and RA Ms Tricia Yu worked with Universitas Brawijaya (UB) colleagues and students to support two under-resourced schools in Malang. The team trained around 30 teachers, introduced AI-supported learning to around 50 students, and piloted research activities aimed at supporting around 300 students.

On 22 August, Dr Lee and RPg student Mr Upara Santipap delivered a three-hour workshop hosted by the TEFLIN Research and Development Division for around 225 researchers, educators, and graduate students, covering GenAI-assisted academic writing, vibe coding for educational applications, and qualitative analysis.

Through collaboration with UB, TEFLIN, local schools, and communities, ELE researchers and RPg students continue to explore how research and emerging technologies can support educators and learners, particularly where educational resources and opportunities are limited.
