PolyU Council Chairman Dr Lam Tai-fai and Vice President (Student and Global Affairs) Prof. Ben Young recently led a delegation to Thailand and the Philippines. The visit achieved fruitful outcomes and further expanded PolyUโs international presence and partnership network across Southeast Asia๐๏ธ๐.
During the visit, the delegation visited local secondary schools, leading higher education institutions and their Confucius Institutes, such as Chulalongkorn University and the University of the Philippines. The delegation also paid visits to the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok. Through high-level exchanges with various stakeholders, the delegation explored opportunities to advance cross-regional higher education collaboration, student exchange and recruitment, as well as cultural exchange, laying a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in the futureโจ.
In addition, the delegation engaged with major local media representatives and Confucius Institute directors in Thailand and the Philippines, and connected with community organisations in the Philippines. These exchanges further strengthened PolyUโs ties with overseas education sectors, media partners, and Chinese communities, advancing the Universityโs internationalisation efforts๐.
