The information on this website is for the sole use of Toastmasters' members, for Toastmasters business only. The University of Hong Kong is celebrated as one of the most famous and cosmopolitan university in Asia. It is the place where dreams are born and leadership is forged in an international environment. The HKU Toastmasters Club was founded in pursuit of these ideals - to provide opportunities for students from all walks of life, whether local, Mainland or international, to come and train together, as well as learning from each other. Thus in February 2013, the HKU Campus Toastmasters Club came into existence, opening a brand new boulevard for students. Under the global network of Toastmasters International and with immense support from the Center for Applied English Studies (CAES), the club was set up for students to hone their English communication and leadership skills. Dr. David Gardner, the Associate Director of CAES, and Paul Martin, ex English Teaching Assistant at CAES, were both instrumental in setting up the club. In addition to the fruitful collaboration with CAES, we are led by a fantastic team of hard working Executive Leaders. Through fortnightly meetings, we assume different roles and responsibilities, listen, speak, evaluate and communicate. We aim to conquer our fears of public speaking, become better leaders, and have fun in the process. Today, with members from 16 different countries and regions, we revel in our diversity and awesomeness. You could be terrified of public speaking, a fluent Grammar Nazi or just someone who likes to talk. Either way, HKU Toastmasters welcomes you with open arms. Whether you want to meet new friends from different nationalities; improve your English communication or just want the world to hear all the bright ideas that just spring out of your head, HKU Toastmasters has got you covered

There will be 5 exciting contest types to choose from:

🗣 Prepared Speech Contest - Create a 5-7 minute speech on a topic of your choice
(You have to complete level 1&2 in any pathway)

📝 Table Topics Contest - Speak for 1-2 minutes on a surprise topic, tested on thinking on your feet
(All contestants available)

📈 Evaluation Contest - Provide a 2-3 minutes constructive feedback on another speech
(All contestants available)

She has been a mentor for many green horns in public speaking and is passionate about helping young graduates and professionals to find their voice and style in presentation.
