2026.10.21 - Three-I strengthened through attendance at Hungarian commemorative event 🇭🇺
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and freedom fight, Dr. Benjamin Chan (Dean) and colleagues Dr. U Kin Pong (Senior Lecturer) and Ms. Tracy Chau (Lecturer) had the honour of attending the event to meet up with colleagues, friends, and supporters of Hungarian arts, culture, music, and science in HK.

HKMU LiPACE collaborates with the Hungarian Consulate General in HK to bring Hungarian culture and music to the campus, as well as engaging with Hungarian health products and scientific companies to enrich the learning experience of students. The School is actively pursuing plans to deepen collaboration further by sending students in the HKMU Lipace HD in Health & Molecular Testing 健康及分子檢測高級文憑 to renowned Hungarian universities on summer study visits. Students in the HKMU LiPACE Early Childhood Education 幼兒教育 will find new stimulation through music education, wherein they will be exposed to the Kodály method. All of these form part of the School's strategy to advance the Three-I initiative (Internationalization-in-Place, Intercultural Awareness, and Inclusion) for broadening the exposure of LiPACE students.

值此1956年匈牙利革命及自由鬥爭70週年之際，院長曾德源博士、高級講師余建邦博士及講師周嘉韻女士有幸出席是次活動，與香港的匈牙利藝術、文化、音樂及科學界的同仁、朋友和支持者會面交流。

香港都會大學專業進修學院（HKMU LiPACE）與匈牙利駐香港總領事館合作，將匈牙利文化與音樂帶入校園，並與匈牙利的健康產品及科研公司對接，以豐富學生的學習經歷。學院正積極籌劃進一步深化合作，安排「健康及分子檢測高級文憑 」的學生前往匈牙利知名大學進行暑期研學交流。同時，「幼兒教育」課程的學生也將透過音樂教育獲得全新啟發，並在其中接觸「高大宜教學法」。所有這些舉措均屬於學院推進「Three-I」倡議（在地國際化、跨文化意識及包容性）的一部分，旨在拓寬 LiPACE 學生的視野。

LiPACE Welcomes Delegation from the Seoul Metropolitan Council

A delegation from the Administration and Autonomy Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council visited our Kwai Hing Campus today and was warmly welcomed by Dr. Benjamin Chan (Dean), Dr. Larry Ching (Associate Director), Ms. Julia Hui (Associate Director), Ms. Crystal Chen (Programme Director) and Ms. Paraz Wan (Administration Manager).

We were delighted to host the delegation, whose visit represented a meaningful continuation of the Inaugural Roundtable on Dialogue of University Continuing Education Schools organised by LiPACE in April 2026. Following the roundtable, one of the South Korean representatives recommended LiPACE as a valuable platform for understanding Hong Kong's developments in lifelong learning and elderly education. As a result, the delegation expressed a strong interest in visiting our campus to learn more about local policies, educational initiatives and best practices in these areas.

During the meeting, our representatives shared insights into Hong Kong's approach to lifelong learning, active ageing and community engagement. The delegation showed particular interest in understanding how continuing education institutions contribute to supporting older adults through accessible learning opportunities, social participation and personal enrichment. Through an engaging discussion and Q&A session, both sides exchanged views on the opportunities and challenges arising from an ageing population and the growing importance of lifelong learning in modern society.

Following the discussion, the delegation visited a Chinese Painting class attended by senior learners. The delegation members interacted with the elderly learners, appreciating their artwork and learning experiences while exchanging views on the value of continuous learning in later life. The visit offered a vivid illustration of how lifelong learning can foster creativity, social connectedness and overall well-being among older adults. The delegation was also introduced to LiPACE's diverse learning opportunities and vibrant learning environment, gaining first-hand insight into our commitment to supporting learners of all ages.

We sincerely thank the Seoul Metropolitan Council delegation for their visit and look forward to future exchanges that promote mutual learning, strengthen international collaboration and advance lifelong learning initiatives for communities in both Hong Kong and South Korea.

首爾市議會轄下行政自治委員會代表團今日蒞臨香港都會大學李嘉誠專業進修學院（LiPACE）葵興校園參觀交流，並獲院長曾德源博士、副院長程家偉博士、副院長許慧怡女士、課程總監陳智嫻女士及行政經理尹佩欣女士熱情接待。

我們十分高興接待是次代表團到訪。此行亦是LiPACE於2026年4月主辦的首屆大學持續教育學院對話圓桌會議（Inaugural Roundtable on Dialogue of University Continuing Education Schools）的延續。圓桌會議後，與會的韓國代表對LiPACE在終身學習及長者教育方面的工作留下深刻印象，並向首爾市議會推薦本院作為了解香港相關發展經驗的重要交流平台。因此，代表團特意到訪校園，深入了解香港在終身學習、積極樂齡及持續教育方面的政策發展、教育措施及實踐經驗。

會談期間，學院代表分享了香港推動終身學習、積極樂齡及社區參與的發展方向，以及持續教育機構在支援長者學習、促進社會參與和豐富退休生活方面所發揮的重要角色。代表團對相關議題表現出濃厚興趣，並於問答環節積極提問，就人口老化帶來的機遇與挑戰，以及終身學習在現代社會中的重要性進行深入交流。

交流活動後，代表團到訪由樂齡學員參與的中國畫課堂。代表團成員與長者學員親切互動，欣賞他們的作品，並了解他們的學習歷程與體驗。透過交流，代表團親身感受到終身學習如何促進長者發揮創意、拓展社交網絡及提升身心健康，充分展現持續學習對建構樂齡友善社會的重要價值。代表團亦藉此機會進一步認識LiPACE多元化的課程發展及充滿活力的學習環境，親身了解學院致力服務不同年齡層學習者的辦學理念。

香港都會大學長者學苑2025/26年度畢業典禮
積極配合特區政府安老政策 推動跨代共融與國際長者教育發展

🎓香港都會大學長者學苑2025/26年度畢業典禮於本院林健忠演講廳隆重舉行。典禮由新界西長者學苑聯網召集人陳孝慈苑長、BCT跨躍學院項目統籌林慧芬女士，以及本院程家偉副院長及課程總監陳智嫻女士共同主禮。超過120位長者學員及學苑代表出席，共同見證學員們在過去一年中的學習成果與努力🎉。

香港都會大學長者學苑一直積極配合特區政府安老政策，秉持「積極樂頤年」與「老有所為」理念，推動長者「退而不休」的終身學習。學苑為55歲或以上長者提供多元課程，包括累計近21,000人次報讀的「長青活學計劃」、響應智慧助老政策的「長者進階數碼培訓計劃」，以及讓長者與大學生一同上課的「大學旁聽課程」，透過「跨代共融」促進兩代人的經驗傳承與新知交流。

此外，學苑亦放眼國際，加入「國際第三齡大學協會」（AIUTA）並成功承辦第51屆年會暨國際論壇，邀得全球19國專家探討數碼時代的長者學習。未來學苑將持續深化國內外合作，共同開創長者終身學習新里程。

Celebrating 2025/2026 EAMU Graduates: Promoting Active Ageing, Intergenerational Learning, and Global Elder Education

🎓The graduation ceremony of the Elder Academy Clusters was successfully held at the Lam Kin Chung Lecture Theatre at LiPACE. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Chan How-chi, Convener of the Elder Academy Clusters; Ms. Iris Lam, Programme Director of BCT Next Academy; as well as our Associate Director, Dr. Larry Ching; and Program Director, Ms. Crystal Chen. Over 120 elderly students and academy representatives attended the ceremony to celebrate the learning achievements and dedication of the students over the past year🎉.

Elder Academy at HKMU (EAMU) has been actively supporting the Government's elderly care policies. Guided by the principles of "Active Ageing" and "Productive Ageing," the Academy promotes lifelong learning, encouraging elderly to remain active and engaged after retirement.

The Academy offers a diverse range of courses for individuals aged 55 or above, including the highly popular " Active Elderly Learning Programme"—which has accumulated nearly 21,000 enrollments—the " Enriched ICT Training Programme for the Elderly" supporting smart elderly care policies, and the "University Auditing Programme." The auditing program allows older adults to attend classes alongside Higher Diploma students, fostering intergenerational integration and facilitating the exchange of life experience and new knowledge between generations.

In addition to its local focus, EAMU maintains a global perspective. It has officially joined the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA) and successfully hosted its 51st International Conference and Forum, bringing together experts from 19 countries to explore elderly learning in the digital era. Moving forward, the Academy will continue to deepen collaborations locally and internationally to pave new paths for lifelong learning among older adults.

【西安科技大學高新學院代表團到訪本院 深化陝港高校教育交流合作】

西安科技大學高新學院孫龍傑董事長率代表團一行三人到訪學院。陝西科大高新教育科技投資集團大灣區產業合作負責人何立明博士、今境文創副總經理、全球化服務產業學院聯合創始人馬然女士隨同來訪，香港都會大學深圳辦事處辦公室主任丁峰先生全程陪同交流。本院院長曾德源博士、副院長陳羿帆博士及內地事務組相關同事熱情接待並參與座談。

座談期間，雙方圍繞陝港兩地高校辦學特色、人才培養模式、教學建設經驗展開深入研討與充分交流。結合兩地教育資源優勢，雙方重點就師資互訪、學生交流等合作方向進行細緻探討，為未來常態化、多元化的合作奠定良好基礎。

交流尾聲，院長曾德源博士帶領代表團參觀學院文化空間及多功能教學設施，詳細介紹我院“在地國際化”的育人理念。學院依託特色環境建設與創新課程體系，深耕本土特色、拓寬國際視野，致力於培育兼具在地關懷與全球視野的高素質創意人才，獲得來訪嘉賓的高度認可。

本次交流搭建起陝港高校互聯互通的優質平臺，有效促進兩地教育經驗互通互鑒，為後續深化跨區域教育協作、拓寬師生發展通道、推進國際化育人建設積蓄了新動能。

【Xi'an University of Science and Technology GaoXin College Delegation Visits HKMU LiPACE, Deepening Shaanxi-Hong Kong Higher Education Exchange and Collaboration】

Chairman Sun Longjie of Xi'an University of Science and Technology GaoXin College led a three-member delegation to visit our School. Dr. He Liming, Head of Greater Bay Area Industrial Cooperation at Shaanxi Keda Gaoxin Education Technology Investment Group, and Ms. Ma Ran, Deputy General Manager of Jinjing Cultural and Creative and co-founder of the School of Global Service Industry, accompanied the delegation. Mr. Ding Feng, Director of the Shenzhen Office of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, accompanied the delegation throughout the exchange. Dr Benjamin Chan (Dean), Dr Yvonne Chen (Associate Director), and relevant colleagues from the Mainland Team warmly received the guests and participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions and full exchanges on the educational characteristics, talent cultivation models, and teaching development experience of higher education institutions in Shaanxi and Hong Kong. Leveraging the complementary educational resources of the two places, the two sides focused on detailed discussions regarding collaboration directions such as faculty exchange visits and student exchanges, laying a solid foundation for future regular and diversified collaboration.

At the end of the exchange, Dr Benjamin Chan (Dean) led the delegation to visit the School's cultural space and multifunctional teaching facilities, and gave a detailed introduction to our School's educational philosophy of “Internationalization in Place". With its distinctive environmental design and innovative curriculum, the School remains rooted in local characteristics while broadening international horizons. It is committed to cultivating high-quality creative talents with local care and a global perspective, which received high recognition from the visiting guests.

This exchange established a high-quality platform for mutual connectivity among higher education institutions in Shaanxi and Hong Kong, effectively promoted mutual exchange and mutual learning of educational experience between the two places, and generated new momentum for further deepening cross-regional educational collaboration, expanding development channels for teachers and students, and advancing internationalized education.

粵港雙向互訪共築升學通道｜香港定向班項目邁入新階段

依托本院多年開辦「基礎教育文憑」課程的經驗，以及完善而嚴謹的教學質素保證制度，廣東外語外貿大學國際學院開設香港定向銜接課程（香港定向班）。課程主要面向華南地區的高考考生及HKDSE考生，為暫未符合香港學士學位課程直接取錄要求，但有志來港升學的學生，提供一條具制度保障、培養階段清晰的正規香港升學銜接途徑。

香港定向班採用「1＋2＋2」分段培養模式，協助合資格學生循序完成本科學業。至 2026 年 9 月，項目已順利運作滿一周年， 首屆學生已成功銜接 LiPACE 高級文憑課程， 第二屆新生亦已順利入讀內地階段課程，踏上來港升學的規劃軌道。

為回顧首年運作成果及優化後續安排，本院於9 月 17 日由院長曾德源博士率領代表團到訪廣東外語外貿大學國際學院，與第二屆香港定向班學生進行專場分享‧代表團成員包括副院長陳羿帆博士、課程總監張濤博士、課程總監楊希先生、香港基礎文憑課程主任盧紹榮先生和项目主管彭麗思博士。分享內容包括詳細升學路線及銜接流程、 課程特色及香港校園學習資源與生活配套，並分享優秀學員升學個案，協助新生作出中長期升學規劃。

其後，兩院亦舉行香港定向班項目年度會議。廣外國際學院院長劉田苗先生、黨委組織員謝應東先生、院長助理王勇旗博士、英語教學二部主任李文鳳博士、黨政辦公室主任張輝金先生、招生辦主任盧姍姍女士、留學語言培訓中心主任黃皓茵女士及中心秘書周玥女士出席會議。雙方就課程銜接、教學管理及學生支援服務等議題提出具體優化建議，並就確保項目高質素及可持續發展的方向達成共識，進一步鞏固合作基礎。

而廣東外語外貿大學國際學院代表團，包括廣外國際學院黨委組織員謝應東、黨政辦公室主任張輝金、英語教學二部主任李文鳳博士、留學語言培訓中心秘書周玥於9 月 29日赴港參加學生的升讀儀式，親身見證學生正式步入香港專上教育的新里程。

這兩次粵港雙向互訪，充份展現兩院對香港定向班項目的重視——不僅注重課程制度及質素監管，亦著力支援學生在各個重要成長階段的過渡，由內地預備學習，順利銜接至香港專上教育。

展望未來，廣東外語外貿大學國際學院與香港都會大學 LiPACE 將持續深化校際合作，整合粵港兩地優質教育資源，進一步完善「1＋2＋2」分段培養架構，為華南地區學生提供更暢順及更可靠的香港升學銜接途徑。

Two Way Institutional Visits Reinforce the Hong Kong Access Class Programme

Built upon the well-established Diploma in Foundation Studies and rigorous quality assurance system, the Hong Kong Access Class Programme is delivered by the International College of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS).

Designed for South China NCEE and Hong Kong DSE candidates who aspire to study undergraduate programmes in Hong Kong but do not yet meet direct entry requirements, the programme adopts a 1+2+2 structured pathway, enabling eligible students to complete their undergraduate studies in stages. As of September 2026, the collaboration has successfully completed its inaugural year: the first cohort has progressed to LiPACE Higher Diploma programmes, while the second intake has officially commenced their studies.

On 17 September, Dean Dr Benjamin Chan led a LiPACE delegation to GDUFS International College to review the first-year outcomes, meet the new Access Class cohort and share detailed information on progression routes, curriculum features and learning and living in Hong Kong. An annual review meeting was also held, where both institutions discussed curriculum articulation, teaching management and student support, and reached consensus on measures to ensure the programme’s quality and sustainable development.

Following this visit, a GDUFS delegation travelled to LiPACE in Hong Kong on 29 September to attend the Higher Diploma Progression Ceremony for the first Access Class cohort. Representatives from both institutions witnessed students formally embark on their academic journey in Hong Kong.

These two-way institutional visits underscore the strong partnership between LiPACE and GDUFS. Beyond programme governance and quality assurance, both parties place emphasis on supporting students at every key transition point, from the mainland preparation stage to Hong Kong tertiary education. Going forward, the partners will continue to deepen collaboration and enhance the 1+2+2 pathway, offering a smoother and more reliable articulation route to Hong Kong undergraduate studies for students in South China.
