理大基金感謝茶聚及理大校園導賞圓滿舉行 🌟 感謝攜手同行 ‧ 珍藏光影回憶】

香港理工大學早前順利舉行「理大基金感謝茶聚及理大校園導賞」活動！當日多位理大基金成員、捐款人及各界摯友齊聚校園，場面熱鬧溫馨，洋溢著歡聚交流的喜悅 ✨。

理大在教學培育、前沿科研與社會服務上的每一步跨越，均離不開各位理大基金成員及社會賢達的信任與鼎力支持。是次茶聚好榮幸能邀請到理大校長滕錦光教授為為大家介紹理大最新發展與科研成果，並由新任理大基金主席張心瑜女士向各位夥伴表達由衷謝意 🤝。

為感謝各位嘉賓一直以來的厚愛與同行，我們特別為每位出席嘉賓送上一份專屬紀念品 —— 「光影明信片」 🏛️✨。

【PolyU Foundation Appreciation Reception and Guided Tour 🌟 Thank You for Walking Alongside Us · Treasuring Moments in Light and Shadow】

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) recently successfully hosted the "PolyU Foundation Appreciation Reception and Guided Tour"! On that day, many PolyU Foundation members, donors, and dear friends from various sectors gathered on campus, creating a warm, vibrant atmosphere filled with the joy of reunion and exchange ✨.

Every milestone PolyU achieves in talent cultivation, cutting-edge research, and community service is made possible by the steadfast trust and generous support of our PolyU Foundation members and community leaders. We were deeply honoured to have Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, President of PolyU, introduce the University's latest developments and research achievements at the reception. In addition, Ms Fiona Cheung, the newly appointed Chairman of the PolyU Foundation, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all our partners 🤝.

To express our sincere appreciation for the continuous support and companionship of our guests, a bespoke commemorative gift—the "Light & Shadow Postcard Set" 🏛️✨—was specially presented to each attendee.

The Light & Shadow Postcard Set features three distinct designs, each showcasing an iconic campus landmark. Meticulously crafted using fine light-and-shadow artistry, the three postcards can be layered together to create a three-dimensional view of PolyU’s signature red-brick architecture and iconic campus scenery. As light filters through the layered, intricate paper-cut details, the interplay of light and shadow not only vividly captures PolyU’s campus by day and night, but also symbolizes how our PolyU Foundation members—like points of light gathering into a torch—illuminate the learning paths of our students and the University’s journey of scientific research and innovation 💡🌱.

📸 During the reception, Certificates of Appreciation were specially presented to members who achieved upgraded membership tiers as well as new members of the 2025/26 cohort. Following the group photo, guests enjoyed warm conversations and caught up with one another. A guided tour was also arranged to take guests through the PolyU Gallery to witness the University's heritage and ongoing development.

【理大感謝盧家驄慈善基金支持阿茨海默症藥物研究】

盧家驄慈善基金一直熱心支持理大推動藥物科學研究。理大於 8 月 21 日舉行感謝午宴，答謝基金會慷慨支持大學進行阿茨海默症創新藥物研究。

理大盧家驄慈善基金藥物科學教授、生命科學系教授梁潤松教授與中大醫學院生物醫學學院副教授沈秀媛教授合作，於 2023 年成功研發創新候選藥物ABarginase。該藥物原本針對與肥胖相關的代謝疾病，其後研究團隊發現它對治療阿茨海默症亦具潛力，基金會的支持將推動研究團隊進一步研究藥物的治療成效。

理大校長滕錦光教授在午宴上向基金會表達謝意，並表示基金會的持續支持，充分體現社會各界對理大科研成就的肯定。理大將繼續發揮科研優勢，推動更多具影響力的研究，造福社會。

盧家驄慈善基金主席盧伯韶先生表示，樂見梁潤松教授及其團隊在藥物科學研究取得進展，並深信理大會繼續推動基礎科研轉化，為全球更多患者帶來裨益。

【Appreciation for the Lo Ka Chung Charitable Foundation’s support for Alzheimer’s disease drug research】

The Lo Ka Chung Charitable Foundation has long been a staunch supporter of PolyU in advancing pharmaceutical sciences research. On 21 August, PolyU held an appreciation lunch to express its sincere gratitude to the Foundation for its generous support for the University’s innovative drug research on Alzheimer’s disease.

Professor Thomas LEUNG Yun-chung, Lo Ka Chung Charitable Foundation Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Life Sciences at PolyU, collaborated with Professor Alisa SHUM Sau-wun, Associate Professor of the School of Biomedical Sciences at CUHK, to develop the novel drug candidate ABarginase in 2023. Originally created for obesity-related metabolic disorders, the compound was later found to show potential as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. With the Foundation’s support, the research team will further study the drug’s therapeutic efficacy.

At the lunch, PolyU President Professor Jin-Guang TENG expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Foundation, noting that its continued support fully reflects the community’s recognition of PolyU’s research achievements. He reaffirmed that the University will continue to leverage its research strengths to drive impactful research for the benefit of society.

Mr Peter Lo, Chairman of the Lo Ka Chung Charitable Foundation, said he was pleased to see the progress made by Professor Leung and his team in pharmaceutical sciences research, and expressed confidence that PolyU would continue to translate fundamental research into benefits for more patients around the world.

【懷念與感恩——致敬馮忠國校友 ❤️】

我們深切懷念在生命的最後一段時光，仍然心繫母校，將積蓄捐贈支持理大的已故馮忠國校友 – 馮校友於1982年畢業於香港理工大學前身香港理工學院，成長於資源相對匱乏的年代，學生時期、教育與家庭背景皆無優渥條件，卻憑藉理大培育的專業素養，一生敬業樂業、勤勞踏實，完美體現了那一代香港人「自強不息、刻苦耐勞、同舟共濟」的獅子山精神。

他深知教育是年輕人向上的基石，一生對自己克己節儉，默默存下每一分錢，臨終前囑託家人將積蓄回饋社會、助力香港教育，以赤子之心回報母校與社會。

謹向馮忠國校友及其家人致上最誠摯謝意！感謝你們將馮校友的遺產捐贈理大，校方特將面向馮校友生前居所方向的教室CD301，命名為「馮忠國校友教室」，銘記他對母校的深情；並以其名設立了「馮忠國紀念獎學金」（保本基金形式），讓這份無私大愛與堅毅精神，持續滋養後輩學子，恆久流傳、薪火不熄。❤️❤️

【In Loving Memory & Gratitude – A Tribute to Alumnus Mr Fung Chung Kwok ❤️】

We deeply miss our alumnus Fung Chung Kwok, who, even in the final days of his life, kept his alma mater in his heart and donated his savings to support it – Mr Fung graduated in 1982 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic, the predecessor of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He grew up in an era of scarce resources. Despite lacking a privileged background, he relied on the professional knowledge nurtured at PolyU to build a life of hard work, dedication, and diligence. He perfectly embodied the core values of his generation's "Lion Rock Spirit"—resilience, perseverance, and solidarity.

Profoundly understanding that education is the ultimate stepping stone for young people, Mr Fung lived a frugal life, silently saving every penny he could. Before his passing, he entrusted his family to donate his savings back to the society including the support of education in Hong Kong, giving back to his alma mater and the community with a selfless heart.

We extend our most sincere thanks to Mr Fung and his family! To honor his generous legacy donation to PolyU, the University has specially named a classroom CD301 that faces his former residence the "C.K. Fung Classroom," commemorating his profound support for his alma mater. Furthermore, an endowed fund, the "Fung Chung Kwok Memorial Scholarship," has been established in his name. His selfless love and unwavering spirit will continue to nurture and inspire generations of students to come. ❤️❤️

情深說話未曾講 —— 「劉葉淑婉紀念助學金」答謝茶聚

「原來我寫給劉太的感謝信她真的收到了！」
「我得到的並不只是經濟上的幫助，也是對我努力的認可。」
「因為獲得過別人的幫助，未來，我也希望能將這份愛心傳遞下去。」

為了答謝劉洪文燕女士, BBS, 長年支持理大，並透過「劉葉淑婉紀念助學金」幫助有經濟需要的理大學生，在剛過去的週六我們特別邀請劉太親臨校園，與理大協理副校長（大學發展）及拓展事務總監羅璇博士，以及十多位助學金得主進行深度交流。

該助學金自2008年成立以來，每年幫助30多名有經濟需要的學生，十多年來已惠及逾500名理大學子，助他們卸下經濟重擔，專注發展潛能，拓展視野。

當日參加茶聚的除了在學的學生，也有已畢業的校友，他們透過這個珍貴的機會親自向劉太道謝，互相交流學習及工作上的困難和經歷；劉太也以長輩的身份勉勵一眾年輕人。

學生們更親筆寫下對劉太的答謝之言，劉太亦對理大學子關愛有加，特別為每位同學準備了一份五彩「雪域的祝福」，勉勵年輕人：

Heartfelt Words of Gratitude — The late Madam Lau Ip Sok Wun Memorial Bursary Appreciation Tea Reception

“Because I have been helped by others, I hope to pay this kindness forward in the future.”

To express our deepest gratitude to Mrs Linda Lau, BBS for her long-standing support of PolyU and her generous help to students with financial needs through “The late Madam Lau Ip Sok Wun Memorial Bursary”, we invited Mrs Lau to campus last Saturday. She was joined by Dr Laura Lo, Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement) and Director of Institutional Advancement at PolyU, alongside over a dozen bursary recipients for a heartwarming afternoon of connection and sharing.

Since its establishment in 2008, the bursary has supported over 30 students with financial needs each year. Over the past decade, it has benefited more than 500 PolyU students, helping them lift their financial burdens so they can focus on realising their potential and broadening their horizons.

The tea reception was attended by both current students and alumni. They cherished this precious opportunity to thank Mrs Lau in person, sharing their personal challenges and experiences in their studies and careers. Mrs Lau offered warm words of wisdom and encouragement to the youths.

The students presented heartfelt, handwritten thank-you notes to Mrs Lau. Showing her deep care for PolyU students, Mrs Lau specially prepared a colorful “Blessing from the Pureland” for each attendee, encouraging them to:

適逢7月1日香港特別行政區成立紀念日，香港理工大學（理大）將於校園舉行隆重的升旗儀式。在這個充滿意義的日子，我們誠邀理大同仁、校友以及各界朋友蒞臨，一同見證這個莊嚴時刻！

🌟 凝聚青年力量：認識「理大學生升旗隊」
大家在校園大型典禮中，有沒有見過這群步操鏗鏘有力、精神抖擻的年青人？他們就是理大學生升旗隊（）！
理大一直致力培育兼具國際視野與家國情懷的社會棟樑。為了深化同學對國民身份的認同，理大於2023年正式成立了全港本地大學中首支由在校學生組成的升旗隊。隊員均接受專業的駐港部隊中式步操及升旗訓練。每一次國旗與區旗的徐徐升起，背後都凝聚着同學們無數汗水與對國家的熱愛。

On July 1st, the Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) will hold a solemn flag-raising ceremony on campus. On this meaningful day, we cordially invite members of the PolyU community, alumni, and friends from all walks of life to join us and witness this dignified moment together!

🌟 Uniting Youth Leadership: Meet the "PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team"
Have you ever seen this group of energetic young people marching with powerful, resonant steps during major campus ceremonies? They are the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team ()!
PolyU has always been committed to nurturing pillars of society who possess both a global perspective and a strong sense of national pride. To deepen students' sense of national identity, PolyU officially established the very first student flag-raising team among local universities in Hong Kong in 2023. Team members receive professional Chinese-style military drill and flag-raising training from the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison. Behind every slow and steady rise of the National and Regional flags lies the countless hours of sweat and the profound love for the nation dedicated by our students.

🤝 Gratitude for the Support of Visionary Donors ｜ Joining Hands to Nurture National Sentiments
"It takes ten years to grow trees, but a hundred years to nurture people."
The flourishing development and transformation of the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team would not be possible without the generous donations and steadfast support from visionary donors and friends across society. Thanks to this selfless generosity, the University is able to provide ample resources, professional training, and exchange opportunities both locally and overseas, greatly encouraging more outstanding PolyU students to join the team. 【歲月見證 🌟 傳承前行：查毅超博士感謝晚宴圓滿舉行】

查毅超博士自2020年起加入香港理工大學（理大）基金，多年來積極支持理大各項發展，並於2021年7月，出任理大基金主席一職。查博士將於2026年7月1日起轉任榮譽主席，繼續支持理大悉力孕育年輕人才，為工商業界開發嶄新可行的解難良方。

在2026年 6 月 23 日這個溫馨的晚上，理大基金管治委員會成員齊聚一堂，共同出席查毅超博士的感謝晚宴。這不只是一場聚會，更是我們向多年來帶領理大基金穩步發展的查博士，送上最真誠感謝和敬意的重要時刻。💐

【A Legacy of Dedication 🌟 Honouring Dr Sunny Chai’s Thank-You Dinner】

Dr. Sunny Chai has been a member of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) Foundation since 2020. In July 2021, he assumed the role of Chairman of the PolyU Foundation, encouraging community support for student growth, teaching, and research innovation. Starting from July 1, 2026, Dr. Chai will transition to the role of Honorary Chairman, continuing his support for PolyU's education and industrial solutions.

On the warm evening of 23 June 2026, the PolyU Foundation Governing Committee (GC) came together for a memorable thank-you dinner in honour of the Chairman, Dr Sunny Chai. It was a meaningful evening filled with warmth, reflection, and heartfelt gratitude for his years of steadfast dedication and invaluable support. 💐
