About AITA
The AITA platform is a collaborative teaching materials-driven AI tutor that is purpose-built for HKBU and CUHK students with broader applicability. It has already engaged over 1,000 users across more than 15 courses in Computer Science, Communication, Translation, and Systems Engineering. It has received 100% positive feedback: students praise it for effective course-based knowledge review, conquering difficult content, and streamlining note-taking.

AITA overcomes key limitations of general-purpose AI tools, which typically lack course context, curriculum alignment, and awareness of individual learner needs. It converts PDF course materials, such as lecture slides, textbooks, and notes, into a personalised, 24/7 AI study partner. Students receive context-aware guidance, instant explanations, adaptive practice, progress tracking, and smart support tailored to their learning style.

Powered by a Learning Agent and Course-Oriented Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), the system keeps every response firmly grounded in the instructor’s specific materials. This design promotes deeper understanding while strongly supporting academic integrity.
