【🎉 Two Young PolyU Scholars Named in MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 (TR35) China! 】

The 2025 MIT Technology Review "35 Innovators Under 35" (TR35) China list has officially been announced! PolyU is proud to celebrate two of our brilliant young researchers on their inclusion — Prof. Tsz-woon Benedict LO, Associate Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry, and Dr Jiaxin LV, Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, recognised in the "Visionaries" and "Inventors" categories respectively! 👏

🔍✨Prof. Tsz-woon Benedict Lo | "Visionaries"
Prof. Lo developed groundbreaking synchrotron resonant soft X-ray diffraction (RSXRD) technique, achieving the world’s first 3D atomic-resolution mapping of framework aluminium (Al) in industrial-grade zeolite catalysts. This breakthrough significantly enhances catalytic precision and selectivity whilst reducing energy consumption, paving the way for efficient carbon-resource conversion to combat climate change.

🧪⚙️ Dr Jiaxin Lv | "Inventors"
Dr Lv developed the Multi-container Extrusion (MCE) technology, enabling the integrated, seamless manufacturing of ultra-wide, thin-walled light alloy components that previously required segmented welding. She also drove the establishment of a 6,500-tonne automated production line, completely transforming the manufacturing process for large-scale lightweight structural components.

With two of the five Hong Kong awardees coming from PolyU, this recognition highlights our excellence in nurturing young talent and driving frontier innovation. We look forward to seeing more young PolyU researchers push boundaries on the global stage! 🌍🌟
